Can she come up with something else to talk about though? She's talking about that stuff since NFR and I think nobody really cares anymore. Plus, I'm afraid it will be another ugly controversy ... The cover art is cute but pretty bland and devoid of any interesting artistic concept. More like something a freelance-counselor would upload on their website.

Yeah, it was pretty but everything was cut in such a random, hectic way that did not make sense with either the storyline or the song's pace/flow. It was just ... too much, no focus on what the music video really should have been. A supercut of pretty pictures, but not something that actually interacts with the song. However, I feel like she has that problem with a lot of her musicvideos. They just go on and on without the scenes/ the cutting actually being paced with the flow of the tracks. Like - the song has a very exciting part but the video does not "react" to it in a well-timed way.

Lust For Life - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
Thunder Revenant replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
The album grew on me in the way that I appreciate it as an incohesive, messy collection of songs - some of them are among my least favourites from her official discography ever (Lust For Life, Coachella, BPBP), others are among my favourite Lana-songs (Cherry, 13 Beaches, Heroin) If I' have to cut LFL down to the tracks I enjoy, it's tracklist would be: 13 Beaches Cherry White Dress Summer Bummer In My Feelings When The World Was At War Tomorrow Never Came Heroin Change Get Free -
Jack did a great job on NFR, even though LB decided to suddenly hate it out of some weird "oh noes the GP likes it"-reaction. It's a wonderful album. What he and Lana did on CoCC is good, however I think parts of the album could have been way better if it was done by another producer like Rick. I see Jack's input on things like TJF or DBJAG, but then again I'm pretty sure that White Dress, Wild At Heart, DTWD, NAHWAL or LMLYLAW would most likely have profited by a less "I can play 3 chords and use the same synthetic instruments over and over again"-esque approach. However, I'm not sure if Lana would have been comfortable/ inspired to do something like White Dress with any other producer, so there is that. While I really love NFR and enjoy CoCC, I don't think they should do a third record since I can't really imagine anything new or exciting will "happening" between the two at this point and I'm sure that it would be better for Lana's art to try someone/something new now.

Chemtrails Over the Country Club Merch & Media Drop

Does not change the fact their fabric is thinner and cheaper than a dollarstore curtain -
I think "Dissolved Girl" or "Black Melt/ Black Milk" would be a great song for her to do IF she would ever cover a Massive Attack song.

I think that is a VERY broad understanding of that genre andit's sound - which, although diverse, is actually pretty profilic. Yeah, dreamy andmelancholic vibes with strings, reverb and slow beats are a huge part of it, but I woul never think of HM as trip hop. I also listened to it "for all of mylife", so when I think about it, I envision Portishead, Massive Attack, Bowery Electric, Archive's Londinium, Tricky's Maxinquaye, Laika, Flying Lotus, Bonobo, DJ Cam, Lamb, early Moloko etc. And HM is really not close to any of this.

Chemtrails Over the Country Club Merch & Media Drop

All of her merch had a terrible quality though. Even the Blue Jeans-print shirts she sold during the Paradise-Tour are worse than half of what you'd get in Primark -
Sorry, but a dominant beat and some strings does not make a Trip Hop album. Religion is the only track where I could maybe see it, but you'd really have to actively try to force a different genre description than "alt pop" to actually come to the conclusion that this trip hop. And nah. UV is rock-influenced, there is this lowfi production and the prevelance of electric guitars but its not like a Doors-album in any way. TOW is jazzlike since the original IS a jazz song. Sad Girl has a slightly jazzish melody. UV is not jazz at all, I don't know what you're hearing.

Ah ok, that thing. Well, I could see the melody stemming from that time, but the songwriting and the production really screams Jack-Antonoff-NFR-era to me. Especially listening to things like the UV demos we have - Your Girl, Fine China an Say Yes To Heaven - I feel like it's so much more polishedand ... bland.
