i feel like the reason the authenticity debate has come around again is actually largely due to her change of image/direction, her hanging out with people at hillsong and her unprofessional behaviour when it comes to the release.
of course people change, artists change, isn't about that. she's ignoring her fans, she's acting weird, she doesn't even do any interviews which bridge that gap and reveal what her creative process actually is anymore? i think it's inevitable people think "who the fuck is she and what is she trying to do?" 

some people really need to learn that a forum like this is intended for debate not mindless sycophancy. you can both enjoy someone's art AND criticise them, it's perfectly okay. what did lana say? oh yeah she quoted walt whitman who said he "contradicted himself because he contained multitudes." maybe listen to one of your fav's favourite poets

Yeah, so so glad she managed to find homophobic saddies for friends    she really hasn't done anything destructive since being friends with them. She should just give us an approximative window. Maybe not right now, with her new single out, but like soon?!?
However, the press release for Hope, back in January, said mid-year (May to August), and we're still in that time window. I won't freak out if we don't have news by July - August. However, if summer is gone and we have no news, I'm gonna get into the catastrophe scenarios lol. 

the caginess from her is incredibly bizarre, it's as if she doesn't even like this album herself. i realise the professional record label stuff could be getting in her way but when you're proud of something you want people to hear it surely?!

Who knows why she did it... She wants the focus to be on Doin' Time? She is pissed we are asking her constantly about it even when she just released a new song? Or maybe there is something else she is not telling us. 
Everyone is getting impatient with her right now, though. 
As for MAC and VB getting left out of NFR, as of a couple of weeks ago, I thought it would be so stupid to do so, for the cohesion of the album and all. Now, I don't find the idea stupid: they will be 1-year old soon. 

Ah, yes, who can forget J.K. Rowling insisting she was born a boy named Harry James Potter, attended Hogwarts, defeated Voldemort, and then transitioned to female, changed her name and wrote her autobiography to share what she went through with us Muggles.
