  1. my friend who lives in valparaíso went into the city today to peacefully protest and said military was everywhere and they even dropped tear gas bombs, and so they had to leave since their eyes hurt. such a shame, seeing governments all over the world now abusing their power. it's not new but it definitely wasnt this bad  :crossed:

  2. I see the best songs didn't get a MV? Why?

fghdfghfgh i either couldnt picture a mv for that song, or the one we got (venice bitch) was unneccessary and didnt really add anything to the experience of the song. vb is one of my favorite songs of all time but i never watch the mv bc i dont really feel like it "does" anything, if that makes sense lol

other than that, they didnt get a mv bc other, more "public-friendly" songs did and i couldnt picture lana giving us a mv for every song. i want them to get a mv i but im trying to remain realistic here lol

  4. Honestly I don't know how she did it but that era felt ALIVE the entire two year run, it was such an experience

Now eras end like 2 weeks after the album is released

for real....although, to be completely honest i think this era died so quickly bc the album wasnt what a lot of people wanted lol  :creep:

  5. When Electra died with "Electra Heart" video I cried so hard. That was a hell of a persona + aesthetic she gave us so many good songs. I love pop music. I know its sad cuz she could never do this again and even if she did it wouldnt be the same effect

it was my fave album + era at the time, so i can relate. i was so sad i didnt know what to do w myself when the era officially ended. i only caught the tail-end of it (became a fan in jan 2013) but holy moly it changed my life. how i survived i dont know but im glad i did to experience froot, regardless of how messy that era was sjdfgsf

  6. i dont think lana wants to give specific shout-outs to her gay fanbase bc it seems like pandering to them. ik marina has said something along these lines too when asked abt her gay fanbase. lana undoubtedly knows her demographic, but she's probably afraid of how a public statement be perceived? i mean, its not like every chance lana gets she gives shout-outs to her fanbase of white teenage girls; pandering to her fanbase is just not her style (i mean we dont even have a fucking fandom name lmao). this type of thing is a "damn if you do, damned if you don't" situation imo

I think as I got older I’ve realized that about Gaga, she opted to try to include gays but then it almost went too far as to selling her music and herself to them for financial gain. And that’s not okay with me. “Oh I accept all gays(‘ money!!!!)” and that bothers the absolute shit out of me. Don’t get me wrong, shes done fundraising stuff and pushed for gay rights and gay acceptance but come on... I don’t want to be exploited for money as a fan of ANY artist.

on another note, personally i dont think gaga exploits her gay fans for financial gain..she's an openly bisexual woman and she's a part of this community. as a queer woman i, too, would love to incorporate my community (lesbian, trans, gay, anyone lgbt+) into my work and use my artistry to lift them up. like u said, she's done a lot for the community so honestly i think that alone counteracts what you perceive as exploitation, along with her being bi, but i can understand ur skepticism when it comes to celebs exploiting lgbt people. it's been done before, it's being done right now, and it'll be done in the future. it's something we're all unfortunately a bit too familiar with  :crai:

(im a bit confused as to what you were trying to say, so sorry if this response doesn't make sense/doesn't apply)

  7. 2099 would've also been so much better solo because of how it's like a personal manifesto that closes the album... a full circle moment with next level charli

this. honestly i dont like troye sivan so im glad i could barely tell he was there bc he didnt really....do anything  :w8ing:

i feel like charli only had him on cuz he was in 1999 and the tracks are supposed to be linked (for the lack of a better word) right???
