I think both albums are amazing in their own right. They are different. Not better, not worse, just different. -
Ask her if she plans on putting any additional tracks onto the album xo

At least you're mature enough to argue your own opinion, thank you xo

Ultraviolence - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

Her vocal delivery on Ultraviolence is out of this world. You get the sultry deep voice but you also get that light and fluffy high voice. If anything on this album is good, it's her singing. The production compliments the vocals. I absolutely love the band backing her; it's as if it was meant to be. -
Eggy is only made tolerable when Charli contributes her songwriting skills xo

Sorry sweetie but it is expressing an opinion when you call something generic or uninspired. Just because you think you have "facts" to back up your opinions doesn't mean they then become the truth we must all adhere to. It does have a chorus breakdown but it isn't an EDM or dubstep breakdown, it's really its own thing. But that's also my opinion. And no, the reality is Break the Rules was released and Sucker is coming, and I'll be enjoying while you all bitch about it. I'll definitely get more enjoyment out of it xo
-
Considering it generic and uninspired is indeed an opinion. Please look that up thank you xo. And I don't think your scope of music is really that wide. You know the song is inspired by punk bands? Like The Waitresses and Shampoo? Seems like none of you really get it.
-
...In your opinion. Stop acting like your opinion equals fact, thnx xo.

It really just seems like you all are bitching because she isn't making True Romance part 2. She's gonna change, and Break the Rules is a quality and fun song. Maybe you personally don't enjoy it, but there are people who do. It's also weird how people can appreciate one aspect of pop which was represented in TR, but not another which will be represented in Sucker. I just don't see the point in all the bitching about how Charli has lost it or whatever. Move the fuck on and let people enjoy it xo.

I'm not pretending. Charli makes pop music, and yet most of you are acting surprised by the fact Break the Rules is pop. It fits Charli's personality through and through, so if you don't like it maybe you just shouldn't be a fan of hers. It's the new direction for the album. Good for you though, she plans to change and evolve for each album, so the third album won't sound like the second.
-
What do you expect when it's nothing but people bitching about Charli's "totally new and never before heard musical direction that's totally selling out by the way because she never did pop and I'm too pretentious to recognize that."
-
You people are just angry because she called each and every one of you out for your bullshit.

The chorus has already been stuck in my head since I heard the teaser. This is gonna be delish. -
Well longevity is one thing. Any singer can have longevity. Having longevity and still having massive pull and impact in popular culture? That's almost only reserved for megastars and none of those have seemed to happen since the 80's. Madonna and MJ are prime examples. I think the closest thing we have to a megastar is Beyonce. Gag doesn't stand a chance against any of them obviously, she's through already. Rihanna will be going strong for as long as she likes. Katy doesn't have a lot of ideas nor does she have versitlity but she could be doing this for a while. I could see Katy retiring eventually though. Overall none of them could repeat the success and impact of Madonna. That's stupidly assuming it's easy to replicate Madonna's career, when in fact it's impossible. They can merely try, but never succeed xo. Longevity? ...Sure, some of them may be singing at Gay Pride when they're 50.

This song takes me there EVERY time. Makes me think of a field of hydrangeas or something.

Charli is absolutely amazing. Princess of Life.
