  1. Was listening to her over Christmas lol. I'm not sure if I am in love with her music? Some of its amazing but I don't vibe with other songs. Black Dog, Angels Song, and Second Guessing are my favs.

She should be standing where Charlie is (or even where Chunk is)

Why does she insist on being peripheral on her own album covers?

Also the horse would've been a nice continuation of the method of transportation theme that all her covers have. Instead we got a fucking picnic table.

    She's so annoying

Actually the mobile icecream cart in the background is the mode of transportation for this era :oic:

While Ultraviolence is a good album, Honeymoon is superior in every way

As much as I think of them as equals, as time passes Honeymoon grows stronger with each listen :oop: Both will always be apart of my holy trinity but Honeymoon.. shes the glorious sister that she always knew she was :ma:

i just never really enjoyed it :toofunny: and i feel like i should because i think the abrasive "shout" sample is great and i like the songwriting but i never really have a desire to listen to it :toofunny: i just think the song isn't really pleasant to listen to :tsk:

Blue Jeans is the only single off BTD that I just never liked or could get into (and I didn't like most of the singles apart from BTD until they eventually grew on me). Its the only song off BTD that I find cringey and it just embodies 2012 Tumblr and thats before I found out that it was completely cannibalized by Tumblr :toofunny: I never liked the melody either, and just like you said, a unpleasant song to listen too :bebe:

was it good? is it like, richer clam chowder lol god i loooove towns like those. so cute and charming. and the air's just usually so much thinner but fresher? but anyway yeah oysters are amaziiiiiing. horseradish? mmmmmm an yeah. rite? RITE? :ma: ty ty :ma:

Oooooh yk I forgot about the gold mariah one, like if you're gonna do a gold vinyl thats the way you do it with the wrinkly foil marble effect :dua: or I've seen some that look like they're pressed on like an actual foil. Where its like a golden chrome

    Spoiler

    rs=w:360,h:240,cg:true3_GR-112_300_blank_gold_record_record_aw

And yeaaa that oyster chowder was just so delicious like natural secretions of pure heroin.. :cumming2: but dont do heroin kids My friends sorta cousin was there and she like hated men, which like mood, but after we ate she was suspicious of us because of oysters and their aphrodisiac properties :monicker: Thats what reminded me of the stew from your other comment LMAO. But honestly it was worth it just for that creamy white goodness. We got milkshakes too which took the meal to another level :slay:

I was thinking thaaaaaat. honestly if it were with the original cover, it'd just remind me of oysters, bc of the bnw with the pearl inside. is the album an aphrodisiac? how the hell would I know but I wouldnt've minded. who doesn't love a good day at the beaaaach :defeated:
Strangely enough tho, a gold vinyl similar to mariah's butterfly would've looked so elegant w the alt cover. the alt cover gives me bridgerton vibes and gets me laughing at how restrained/ formal courtship was compared to now. maybe as a happy medium the off white pearlescent holographic vinyl w a gold descriptive center? would've been BEAUTIFUL :karaoke::oop::isee:

That reminded me about this really amazing oyster stew that I had in a small beach town up in washington and now I'm really craving it :hawt:

Usually I hate golden vinyls because the effect looks plastic-y and cheap but a golden foil center with the pearlescent sounds perfect wtf. Your mind... :angie:

  7. So I was looking through google and stumbled on this link by surprise :rip: I don't know if its been mentioned yet but you can actually preorder the boxset on Barnes n Nobles for the same price but it comes with free standard shipping. So you don't need to spend an additional 8 bucks on shipping for a 52 dollar item :deadbanana: This is only for people in the US though

I'm honestly debating on buying 2 bone/beige vinyls, dipping one in some kind of rainbow'd thin sheer marble to make my pearl dreams come true.

and it's just marinating rn, but I really wish we got the gatefold image for the vinyl. expectatioooooons

I was thinking how the white pearlescent would've gone so well with the alt cover, tying in with the white dress that shes wearing. Just bare white vinyls are boring af but make it white pearlescent and.. :gasp:

it's early here, so just to confirm, UO's is going to be gatefold? if so ok cool yess

still wondering about that orange vinyl we got from code. that and the siiiigned stuff

I think someone confirmed on the COCC thread that the orange was actually someone elses album exclusive. Universal website shares its urls with all artists so it was possible to find other artists merch through her code or something like that.

  10. So its been a year and a half since my initial badly written review of NFR and I feel like sharing my updated thoughts on the album :creep:

Norman fucking Rockwell: I think its a cute track that I really like. Solid and safe and a nice title track.

Mariners Apartment Complex: Still love this song since the day it came out. It set my high and massively disappointed expectations for the album and is still a classic.

Venice Bitch: Still such a great song. I always listen through all 10 minutes of it when I stream it. I also loved the song since the day it came out but thats a given with VB and MAC.

Fuck it I love you: Initially I thought it was an okay song but its now one of my favorites off the album wasn't much of a competition for that though It never fails to get me in that good vibe and I can always just listen to it whenever. The end of the song especially is just mwah

Doin' Time: Don't really like this song still. Its good, yes, its also mainstreamy which isn't really a bad thing. I don't really vibe with the lyrics since it is such a straight guy song. Love the music video though.

Love song: Still hate it :hooker: The snippet was far superior than the rest of the song. I especially hate the prechorus part with the dress chest mess best test lyrics. The chorus itself isn't all that bad but basic at the same time. The verses are the best part of the song. :typewriter:

Cinnamon girl: My opinions haven't changed much for CG. Its a solid song and I quite enjoy it. I like it a lot but it is basic for Lana.

How to disappear: Its weird to me people like this song.

California: The biggest glow up for me personally. I disliked it at first because it didn't click with me, but then it did. Its such a great song now and I catch myself singing it in my head. The prechorus and verses especially get stuck in my head. The "and if you come back to california/america, just hit me uuuuuuppp" line to :oop2: I also think it uses the best throwback on the whole album with the "flipside" lyric. It felt natural whereas every other reference on the album felt forced Love song.

    The Next Best American Record:

The greatest: I like the song quite a bit now! I don't really get why people think its like VB or MAC level but I do think its really good. I wish the guitar solo was more aggressive, for the type of song it is, about "the culturE", I feel like it would've benefited with that emotion in the production. Other than that I think the outro is beautiful and the transition to the rest of the piano ballads was a great detail.

Bartender: Still love this song. Feel like y'all hate on one of the better songs on the album too much. Rick could slap his dick on the mic and I'd still eat it up.

Happiness is a butterfly: Its such a cute song. Kinda forgot my initial thoughts on this track but its really cute. My favorite part has to be the part right before the prechorus in the second verse. Where shes like "I'll pick you up if you're in town on the corner, ah-ah-uh-ah" :omg::gurl: Always loved that part ever since she teased it in one of the million snippets.

hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it: I actually really love the first verse and the first chorus. Its the second verse and second chorus that loses me. Feel like some of the lyrics were too intricate and so personal to the point where only she knows what shes singing about. Which to some is actually a positive, the mystery behind those confusing lyrics, but to me personally its not. I especially hate the iPad lyric I wish she never wrote that down. Everything else after I like though. But overall just usually pass on the song mostly because of this.

Now I think my main issue with the album is how overhyped it was. The critics praised it so hard and the GP were all over it and honestly I think it was because it was what was "popular" at that moment. NFR was trendy and we saw all the normies hop on it. They call it her best album when UV and HM are right there and the disregard to her previous work leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Obviously that isn't Lana's fault or Jack's fault or the album's fault. I don't think anyone could have predicted such a safe project to be so over hyped :rip: even Lana herself seems to feel that way, shocked about it, especially in the most recent interview. I don't think the album is bad at all, I actually do like it just definitely not as much as her other albums. I can't say I love it but I can say I do love some of the tracks individually.

I like the album a lot more than my first listen, but I still don't consider it anywhere near the holy trifecta. Its cute, I'll give her that, but when cute is next to gorgeous well gorgeous is going to devour cute :oprah3:

I feel like this sage green might be close to the UO vinyl color and if so I would love that!! Still should’ve been the Neil cover though ?

I'm so suspicious of UO :rip: All it says is "green" and "exclusive green vinyl" so I'll wait to see what it looks like in person before even considering it :creep: the NFR! pink has traumatized me, will never preorder a variant off UO again. pricings so jacked too

are the red alt cover and the yellow indie exclusive gatefold? or just regular

If the OG cover really has a gatefold then I'm assuming all versions with the regular cover are gatefolds, including the yellow. I'm pretty sure every variant of Violet had a gatefold so I'm guessing all the sleeves will be the same. The alt I'm not sure, I hope it does.

  14. Still can't believe she made a grey vinyl :rip: horrifying. At least there are multiple colors and variations to choose from.

Although I do love the red, it is kinda out of place with the alt cover. I think the juxtaposition is a nice contrast and it fits in that sense. But I wonder why she didn't do like a strong malibu color. Like she also had a chance to do that color for LFL with the malibu truck but she went with clear? :rip: Either way it looks lovely so I don't really care. Hope theres a gatefold with more Neil pics. Also hope the poster is a picture we haven't seen before. Or one of the Yosemite pics, those are all so cute.

I liked your post then I saw Tame Impala. I was like :smh:

    LOL :rip:

Tbf I didn't give him that great of a chance and might revisit him again. Usually I listen through at least 2-3 projects in complete before I decide whether or not I wanna continue. But I think I was listening through only one album :rip: and my dinner was ready and I was like "yeah spaghetti.. :thirst::hawt:" and forgot about it. And when I got back I was in the mood for Lana and clicked off :deadbanana:

Weyes Blood, and it's not because I think she's overrated or anything, I think good music deserves recognition, but I have not listened to any of her songs in full because they don't grab me. I think if I heard her over the radio I'd like her music, but just trying to get into her in my own time isn't gonna work :ohno:

It was the same for me too, I was trying her out and I didn't really like her music as a whole. But then I found myself coming back to her and it just suddenly clicked and now I love her music. Its so weird how it worked that way but it did and I'm glad I eventually loved it cause her music fucking rocks :bop::hype: My favorite album is by far Front Row Seat To Earth, I think its what made me really enjoy her music.

  17. Everything about Marina is a miss for me :rip: Her music, her voice, the production of her songs, her lyrics... nothing clicked at all when I first heard her music like 10 years ago and it still doesn't click now :deadbanana:

Fiona Apple I just don't really like her music either. Just not my cup of tea.

See a lot of Florence here and I agree, don't really like her music. I feel like I would but I just don't unfortunately :whatever2:

I also tried getting into Tame Impala and I didn't like his music either. FKA Twigs aswell just don't really like her music.
