I think her cover will be more Frank Sinatra and Willie Nelson than it will be Ella Fitzgerald tbh half because Ella’s vocals would be really hard for her to cover, and half because again, I don’t think jack has quite the range. I don’t think his take on it will be bad or anything, I just think it’s going to be less lanazzy than people are hoping

So the latest we’ll have it is April 3rd idk I think @111 was hinting at Feb 14th, if they’re doing weekly releases I can see them dropping the Lana one the day the show starts

I’m forever curious about the original Rock Candy Sweet that we never got Boz said some of his favorite songs on this album were scrapped, and I really hope someday they see the light of day Blue Banisters is the Lana album I go back to the least, and of the 2021 records, this is the one I could go without. None of the songs connected to me, and the laziness of ripping songs off of YouTube, while at the same time reworking other songs (Thunder, IYLDWM) just feels like a career low (to me) I also am not a huge fan of Drew’s solo work, and I think he shines best when he has other producers work with him. Arcadia and VFR are both cute but they’re missing something

I’d kill for a bop like Doin’ Time again, too. Tbh. At least we know she still has it in her since she released Jimmy even though she didn’t even want to release it and it was Jack’s idea At this point in her career I don’t ever think she’ll release a full on bop again, so I’d take songs like Peppers, Taco Truck, Jimmy, and LTLI

Idk life lessons because I listened to it once, but Hollywood Bowl was one of my top Lana songs last year so gonna go against the grain and say I’d love another Hollywood Bowl. Insanely catchy melody, and I don’t know, the lyrics seem kinda deep to me. Like not every line is a thought provoking line, but the whole second verse “I've got a swimming pool, I like to float on the surface And think of the stories I've already sold Oh I've got a feeling, I've got a memory Why wait for Heaven when I can have Heaven right here like I'm told?“ is absolutely beautiful. Idk I would absolutely love more breezy songs like it

tbh I would be completely okay if it isn’t something deep. Catchy melody, absolutely, but I’m lowkey burnt out on deep songs, I wouldn’t mind something more light and breezy.

The problem with country (or any genre tbh) is everyone describes it differently. Lana herself has said that she thinks Ride has a country vibe to it, so while everyone thinks we’re getting yeehaw country I absolutely do not

Oh she’s absolutely had time to cook something up! Jack said in an interview she was dragging him to the studio, and that was before ocean came out. Since we don’t know what Henry even is (which I think is the most annoying part of all of this) it’s hard to say if it’s first single material. It just depends on the project it’s attached to

I also don’t necessarily care when the song comes out (I’ve always thought the next album would be a 2025 release) but I hate when she posts snippets without any kind of info regarding it, I’m selfish Like if the album is far from done, I’d rather not get a snippet or anything, especially if right now she’s in Grammy campaign mode. that said, last time we got our first album snippet (Candy necklace) we didn’t hear the song for 6 months, but the album was almost done (she said the album was finished in September) it’s just the 6 month vinyl wait that’s killer. I hate how billboard changed the rule that vinyls have to be done and shipped to count for first week sales, especially because Lana is such a powerhouse when it comes to vinyl sales.
