  1. it doesn't, but honestly some of lana's songs would be extremely underwhelming without them IT'S FUCKIN HOT HOT WINTER IN THE CITY
  2. yes i do agree born to die bridges are phenomenal and much prefered than nfr without bridges but i guess that's just how jackoff writes
  3. well almost every bridge just repeats other lines from the song with no key change, TIWMUG and OTTR do have groundbreaking bridges tho
  4. her bridges really are spectacular but i think that's just how rick and lana wrote together, a lot of songs didn't have bridges on btd either.. papa nowels is truly our king
  5. i can't believe we're gonna hear the full album in hq in 9 days

    Melanie Martinez

wheels on the bus remains as the best snippet
  7. she wrote bartender, hope and happiness is a butterfly before she started working with jack and she told him she already had a few songs she had ready to start off a new record. also bar was intended for lust for life too so.. i'm sure at some point she contemplated putting rbfy on nfr but the album was already getting so long she most likely replaced it
  8. they do this with every album, people still say honeymoon is an acoustic born to die
  9. i think one thing that makes bartender so special is how complex the lyrics are and they really tell a story, most of the songs on the album have pretty short hooks and end up just repeating the same lyrics but with bartender it's almost classic lana storytelling a la this is what makes us girls and off to the races
  10. i so badly wish there was one more chorus after the piano outro in the greatest it would be so beautiful.. you're expecting the song to come to a close then it just hits you with one last AND I'M WAAAAAAAASTED
  11. i feel like change and bartender were recorded at the same time, her voice kinda sounds the same in both songs and they were recorded in the same studio and just songs lana and rick wrote on the piano really quick maybe
  12. i’m pretty sure doin time, BAR and how to disappear were the last 3 since she said HTD was the last song they recorded at the apple event and bartender and HIAB were the first two they worked on since lana said she already had 2 songs ready before she worked with jack
  13. y’all are like “california” or “cinnamon girl” is the white mustang of this album.. acting like that’s a compliment
  14. the beginning of the verses sound just like summer wine
  15. lmao its def gonna be lime green what else do you expect
  16. it kinda makes sense, doin time is a very pop song and the last 3 songs are ballads it just wouldn't sound right plus it's a single usually you don't put singles at the end of the album also blue velvet is a cover and it was in the middle of the album too
  17. she mainly relies on the back track when she performs blue jeans and national anthem what's the point and of course she wouldn't add the greatest to the setlist she wouldn't even try to hit the notes in the chorus
