most people find the style she used in national anthem/ ride / tropico to be unsettling or over the top and now Lana is more and more like most people she is moving towards the happy and simple. which isn't bad but it is distinct from her older stuff. mostly I think that Lana doesn't take things as seriously as she did when she was younger, when she was more idealistic and passionate about extreme artistic expression

Lana must really love that backup singer as a friend to keep her in the video despite her ummmm... strong facial expressions and body language lana and one dancer are there being cute and girly and cool and then the third girl is looking at everything like she's me aged 14 desperately trying to look aggressive and sexy for the first time but ummmm not being very subtle at all

I Stan the first 2 parts. the nfr part was my favorite visuals of the whole era. I feel like I understand and appreciate bartender a million times more. happiness is a butterfly.... best song worst video, the injustice is sickening.. lana was acting so teenagery, it was so cute to see but kind of bizarre for some reason if I was not a fan and I saw these videos, id think Lana Del Rey is a girl band of Lana and those two dancers... I don't like how I have to actively look away from the eyes of that one dancer (idk which is which) to enjoy it though also, incoming "Lana is so white privilege she's making videos about throwing food at cops and laughing, while dating one, when police brutality is...." I couldn't stop thinking about how lanaboards members were gonna be so pissed lol

I am so glad she got #1 and so proud of her. but this review...... what is with them trashing her most legendary album in the first paragraph, saying that the motifs like glamour and men are shallow ,and then in the second paragraph say that she was rejected all this time because of "sexist assumptions about her aesthetic and background"? "on California, she tenderly tells a lover, “you don’t have to be stronger than you really are”; but a disgusted, grotesque edge enters her voice in the chorus where she rifles through all the west coast cliches that she knows he expects of her" what the hell is this line ... grotesque edge in her voice? and that interpretation, that she is returning to her motifs with resignation because its what expected of her, is baseless I think... "On prior albums, her subjugation to bad boys has been repetitive to the point of distraction. Here, she and producer Jack Antonoff make it visceral... Her voice is dewy as she revisits a favorite cliche: “Lying on your chest / In my party dress / I’m a fucking mess.” again, author want to stress how bad her motifs were until now... when Jack enters the scene and makes them decent critics couldn't handle Lana in all her thematic glory in 2012 and they equally cant now -
her thoughts are priceless which is why it cost $1. Priceless=$1 logic goddess Lana ! its funny, but I love her sentiment. her thots ARE priceless. and she is donating to help people and giving a good and goodhearted message. also, we get Lana poetry .. in Lanas voice... think music video monologues... think euphoric transcendental experience... we won today !

C’monnnn u know you likeee littleee girllsss Lana likes men who sexualize children. As she does herself in songs. there is a lot of documentation on this website of Lana with guys who groom underage girls and lots of posts from pre-fame days of kiddie pageant girls I know this is a controversial topic and everyone has different ideas about what crosses the line. For me these things are not morally acceptable, but I love Lana anyways and don’t think she has a malicious bone in her body

Joe shilling, who people think Lana wrote htd about. they had a low key fling but then he publicly roasted her and so all of Lana Stans attacked him and called him rat... then Lana sent a dm to a Lana fanpage saying something like "please tell everyone to leave Joe alone, they are sending rats" ahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahha

I despise the opening line of NFR, to me it is the most cringe line ever, even worse than any notorious “living like Jim Morrison” line -

Joanne was released over 3 years ago... fans are saying the album will come soon.. so how it is possible we know next to nothing about concept, title, songs, anything ?!!! is there any explanation or is this situation not as strange as i'm perceiving it?

I can't believe groupie love is so hated by fans... I thought that apart from the rap feature Its one of the most classically lanaesque songs (lyrics, vocals and inflections, and instrumental) on LFL, along with heroin the opening verse with the male backing vocals almost reminds me of honeymoon Groupie love is getting the guns and roses treatment, criminally underrated song hated because of its repetitive and monotone chorus

this song has such a unique version of Lana's sound, she hasn't made another song very comparable to this one I think I hope she returns to jazz in not too long
