  1. This post absolutely nails it, she is 27.
  2. Yup, that is exactly what I was thinking, whether this means we can expect happier songs in the future, maybe a Born to Live era is coming!
  3. I am sure you have noticed that Lana bought a house in Beverly Hills. I think she moved in after she got back from Glasgow and had Chuck and Charlie with her, during the move. Barrie just joined her today (he posted a pic from her house on FB and Twitter), and Lana is of course busy buying stuff for the house (including the pony!). She now has her new Jaguar F-type to tool around (someone posted on ATRL that Jaguar gave her 3 cars!!) and all this makes it seem she is settling down after years of somewhat nomadic existence (Alabama(?), NYC, NJ trailer park, LA, London, Glasgow, Chateau Marmot). On one hand I feel really happy for her, on the other hand I wonder how it will affect her music and song-writing. Your thoughts?
  4. Although I have made quite a few posts, I tried posting something with pictures today and ran into issues that made it impossible to post. I had attached a few pictures previously to a post with the uploader and that seems to have used up my quota of 500 KB, is that correct? How are others posting with pics then? What am I missing? Sorry if this is a real stupid question.
  5. You are just awesome, TPD! I am amazed at the stuff you dig up. The forum wouldn't be the same without you.
  6. There is no doubt that Lana's beauty has helped her get to where she is now. In fact in the WLSC video from 2006 (where she sings Pawn Shop Blues), there is a guy at the beginning who says that the surest formula for success in music is to be really beautiful with a great voice and then they show Lizzie. However in her present reincarnation as Lana, there are people who dislike her because they feel that she has taken advantage of her looks to get to where she is now (of course accusations of plastic surgery did not help). As for me, I like that she is good to look at, but I probably would have liked her even if she was plainer (I love Alanis Morisette), given that I love her music.
  7. We should thank Lanafan 9277 for coming up with this link, I also have never seen it before. It does throw in a few more pieces in the "million-piece puzzle" that is Lana. I think for Radio she is not really saying that a boyfriend came back, but rather that someone she knew (a friend?) was back in her life. However, the person she describes towards the end of the interview really seems to fit MM.
  8. As part of my regular Google search on Lana, I came upon the following article: http://www.independe...es-3243968.html The odd couples By Ed Power
Saturday Sep 29 2012 A-list stunner Lana Del Ray's romance with a little-known rocker is just the latest unlikely celeb twosome. Ed Power reports. If you've been reading the papers lately, you may have wondered why there are so many pictures of Lana Del Rey hanging out with a homeless person. It turns out the scruffy, mega-tached chap standing next to the singer is new squeeze Barrie James O'Neill, lead singer with Kassidy, a rock band few people have heard of (you suspect that even the four chaps in Kassidy would be pushed to name more than three of their songs). "Odd couple" doesn't even begin to do justice to Lana 'n' Barrie, a pairing for which there is no ready-made portmanteau (Bana? Larrie?). With 'Video Games', Del Rey instantly became one of the most famous women in the world. If she was a consumer brand, she'd be Apple -- fashionable, unavoidable, a bit chilly and distant. In short, a fully fledged A-lister with an agreeably mysterious persona, hundreds of thousands of fans and instant name recognition. O'Neill, meanwhile, is slightly better known than the person who served you your last cup of coffee. Aside from the fact he and Del Rey are both involved in the entertainment business, it's hard to see what they have in common -- though, judging by pictures, they both have lovely shiny hair, so they could always talk about that. Perhaps Del Rey secretly craves the company of someone who doesn't buy into her femme fatale shtick and isn't obsessed with fame (and O'Neill, it is fair to state, knows about as much about fame as you or I do about landing a 747). That made me think about Lana and Barrie, particularly if one considers it in the context of her fascination with older (Barrie is 23), bad-boys. She is off the grid this week because she is supposedly driving through the Scottish Highlands with him, so clearly it is a serious fling. In fact I also came up this picture on a Thai Lana Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/lanadelreyTH) that I had not seen before, which also suggests a greater level of intimacy than previous pics of them together. I wonder how she makes the relationship work, it seems they have met only three times this year (February at the Brits, Isle of Wight and now). So what do you all think, is her relationship with Barrie something that is going to last, and what does it say about Lana?
  9. I too think that the three songs are about her three main loves, but each song is not necessarily completely tied to a specific individual, but rather an amalgam. VG is probably more about MM, but it could also include the time she spent with K (would fit with the narrative of them being on their own in a trailer, where the guy would be playing video games), In the same way her attraction to someone tattooed like JG might have begun with K, and BTD could be talking about both of them. Who knows, but as someone said, she seems to be a million piece puzzle.
  10. It might be sexy, but it is bad for her voice (and health), so I guess she has to make a choice.
  11. 1: When did you first discover Lana Del Rey SNL 2: What was the first song that made you fall in love with her music: Video Games 3: Favorite Lana hairstyle: The one she has now (iTunes festival) 4: Favorite live performance: David Letterman (she was under so much pressure and hit one out of the park) 5: Favorite lyric: "They say the world was built for two; only worth living if somebody is loving you". 6: Would you make out with Lana if you had the chance to? Probably, if I could calm my nerves. 7: Favorite facial feature: Nose 8: What's one thing you don't like about Lana? Not preparing enough to give spectacular live performances and not doing some expected stuff, e.g no backing singers, not using ear monitors consistently, not doing encores. 9: Have you ever met Lana? Saw her real close at the NYC concerts, but did not feel like hanging out after the concerts to meet her, so, no. 10: Who's you favorite artist after Lana? Alanis Morissette 11: Would you say you're obsessed or just a really big fan? Really big fan (although getting uncomfortably close to being obsessed). 12: What if Lana was secretly an evil zombie would you still love her? Yes
  12. I interpreted that post to mean that he really liked Lana and Ray (lost track, who is Ray?) and he was making fun that he would like his kids to be like his two best friends.
  13. Of course I remember that whole "showing the boobs" episode. Good that I got to see the video of the show, and that little smile now has a different meaning!
  14. Just saw this posted on You Tube, don't think I have seen it before. She was unusually good in it, anyone know where was this from? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oItxWf8QN-o
  15. It will be wonderful to have one post with the links to all the interviews (maybe listed by years with brief description). There was something like that on the .fm site and was useful to refute false accusations by haters/writers/bloggers in my ongoing effort to be Lana's offensive lineman online. I think the David Nichtern interview was really informative, and dispels many, many of the false stuff still raised about her. I think it is amazing it took someone as talented as Lana so long to break through, but I also find it incredibly admirable that she didn't give up, kept trying, kept reinventing herself, until it all came together. Great woman!
  16. This may also explain why she didn't want to even discuss her birthday on the Radio 1 interview with Fearne Cotton (who had baked her those squished cupcakes). I thought that was kind of strange but did not think too much about it before the birthday thing came up on this forum.
  17. You should cut off the shaver thing at the bottom!
  18. Yeah, it's Justin Murdock, a billionaire, sole heir to the Dole fruits fortune. The Murdock's used to own the island of Lanai in Hawaii, but they just sold it to Larry Ellison. The guy is single, and a good friend of Lana. By the way, according to Sun (UK newspaper), Lana is spending this week with Barry driving around Scottish Highlands (beautiful place as those who have been there know).
  19. Yes, it is official, it is on the Jaguar website.
  20. From the Jaguar website: "The car was revealed in front of the dramatic setting of the 18th century Musée Rodin. Following the reveal, singer Lana Del Rey took to the stage and performed a new track ‘Burning Desire’, that she has written as part of her collaboration with Jaguar for the launch of the F-TYPE. The track is confirmed to be the sound track to a short film that is being produced in association with Ridley Scott Associates and will be featured on her new album. Starring Golden Globe nominated and Emmy Award-winning actor Damian Lewis, the short film is scheduled to be filmed in South America next month and will be released early 2013." Wow! Ridley Scott directing a small movie with Burning Desire soundtrack, can't get any better, wow!

I think it also is "I have got a war in my mind"

Heard this a million times since yesterday, and I am convinced it is "full-time".
  23. Thanks, got it. Probably the best recorded live performance until now.
  24. How did you download it? Neither Keepvid or Savevid is finding downloadable links.
