“Lana doesn’t care about sales anymore” 1234567th variants. Merch dropping every three days.:lmao:

“Lana doesn’t care about critical reception anymore” Perched at 4am in the morning to read reviews. Now has a literal link on her Instagram bio. :eartha:

well merch and vinyl is more than likely handled by her team and not her. as for reviews, she’s happy people like it? that doesn’t mean that she cares when other people don’t.

also, have you ever made a single positive contribution to this thread? or do you simply exist here to take up space and run your mouth? i would say it’s getting old, but it’s been well past that point for months now.

  2. when will y’all learn that lana does not care  anymore about either charts or critical reception? she’s moved on from that and i really don’t know why everyone on here is so invested in the numbers the album is doing. she made this for us. not for other people. most importantly and most obviously though, she made this album for her. music is art and not just a job to her. i swear some of you don’t even listen to the lyrics because if you did youd understand that she has always been more interested in the art than in the money. get a life, go outside, touch some grass, and enjoy this album. or don’t. it’s that’s simple.

  3. okay so i have finally had time to sit with fingertips and read all the lyrics.

this might be her saddest song to date. i understand why some may not like it. but i personally think it’s one of her most revealing and moving songs ever. it’s up there with the grants. this album really sums up my life and headspace right now. not really knowing what’s going to happen to me in the future, trying to live in the moment, trying to grieve, trying to have fun, trying to make sense of it all, trying to figure out what went wrong. it feels like she’s holding up a mirror to me, and i really needed to hear a lot of these songs when i did.

Well it was kind of joke but also I wasn’t totally sure what that lyric means lol:deadbanana:

i think she’s talking about the way frankenstein’s monster was stitched together using body parts from corpses, and how early in her career she was accused of being inauthentic or “fake” and just the creation of someone else, without a soul of her own.

Self-indulgent seems like such reductive criticism for an album like this. It's literally a twisted journey to the center of her heart and mind, like it should be "self-indugent." She's exploring her soul with no filter and it's a sight to behold.

right? music as an art form often is self-indulgent. that’s kinda one of the things about being a singer songwriter. sticking to a vision and telling a story that only you can tell.
