a fan favorite is literally a deep cut by definition though. also there’s really no need to curse or make generalizations to make your point. just nasty and rude to come at me like this when all i did was ask a question. but okay.

the lack of HIFN songs is actually so insane. where is claws, forever, anthems, visions, PARTY 4 U????
  10. whens it gonna be my (lasso’s) turn????
  11. listened to the back third of this album for the first time in so long today. that run from tomorrow never came to get free is actually insane. the whole album is good though i do feel it is a bit all over the place. however, i’m kinda obsessed with Change. why does no one ever mention that song in conversation about her best ballads? the melody on it is just absolutely gorgeous like… HONEST!!! CAPABLE!!! OFHOLDINGYOUINMYARMSWITHOUT- LETTING YOU FALLWHENIDONTFEEL BEAUTIFUL!!! OR STABLE!!!
  12. anyways, if we get another joni mitchell cover, or a collab with two other ICONS (let’s put some respect on Weyes Blood and Zella Day), i hope we get Ladies of the Canyon. Spellling or Bat For Lashes would make for an amazing collab, and Lana’s talked about wanting to collab with Bat for Lashes before!
  13. the for free hate on lanaboards is so forced. who started the smear campaign against her? my favorite artist of all time covered one of my other favorite artists of all time with two of my favorite artists working today, and yet… it’s still so hated
  14. I really can’t believe it’s been 5 years since my favorite album of all time came out. What can I say? Norman, you’re really everything to me. From the moment I heard the premiere of Mariners Apartment Complex, followed by Venice Bitch a fews days later, I knew this record was going to be special, but I never knew just how special it would become for me, let alone for everyone else. 5 years on, and this record still feels new to me, and yet it feels like I’ve known the words to every song my whole life. It’s a true modern classic in every sense and it always takes me back to the end of summer 2019: a world pre-pandemic, and a world holding on for dear life. Personally, though I’m only 22, I don’t see any other albums topping this one before I die. It’s just that good. It’s also the album cycle that I joined LanaBoards during. Just crazy. I remember the high quality snippets of each song leaking and feeling so excited. And then the low quality full album leaking soon thereafter; cassete girl, we love you. And now, time for me to be annoying and rank every song from the album! (They’re all perfect!) Venice Bitch Happiness is a Butterfly Mariners Apartment Complex Norman Fucking Rockwell California Hope is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have - but I Have it Cinnamon Girl Fuck it I Love You How to Disappear Bartender The Next Best American Record Love Song Doin Time
  15. me having a signed pink nfr that i won for free in an urban outfitters giveaway
  16. Honeymoon definitely has a bit of Portishead in there too, with the James Bond stuff as well as the blending of jazz and trip hop elements on songs like Art Deco. I would loveeee to hear Lana cover Sour Times by them!
  17. I feel like she included a lot of jazz and blues *elements* into her typical Lana Del Rey sound. Honeymoon straight up sounds like it could be a torch song from the 40s. The title Music To Watch Boys To is a clear reference to the song Music To Watch Girls By, which isn’t a jazz song, but it is of that same era. Terrence Loves You is a straight blues ballad, complete with a wailing saxophone in the background. Art Deco brings a jazzy saxophone into the mix, as well. Religion just kinda feels jazzy in its melody and the lyrics feel very classic, along with Salvatore and the Blackest Day, in my opinion. She refrences “jazz and blues” on Salvatore. Obviously 24 sounds like a Bond theme, but specifically it sounds like the Bond themes of the 60s, which had heavy blues influence. Then there’s Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, a jazz cover. So I feel like while you’re right in that Honeymoon isn’t a straight up jazz album, to me, Honeymoon is Lana making the genres of jazz and blues bend to fit her unique sound. If she considers Lasso a country album, perhaps she’ll be bending the tropes of the country genre around to fit her sound, as well!
  18. finally she said SOMETHING at least! i’m excited to hear whatever songs she ends up putting out this year omg
  19. okay if we ever get this song i don’t wanna see anyone complaining about it being boring, or never acknowledging it like y’all do with her other released/unreleased songs. y’all were too harsh on blue banisters (album)
