Not necessarily cringe (?) but this felt like the best thread to put this in. I can’t say I blame people for reacting this way (If you need context, Judah Smith and churchome don’t support gay rights) You have to remember that churchome is a celebrity endorsed church. Tons of celebrities attend it and I highly doubt most of them actually agree with ALL of the beliefs that the church has. One of the things Judah has talked about being against is lust. He’s talked about how masturbation and sex outside of marriage is wrong. And guess who’s sung about mastrubation and sex outside of marriage? Miss Del Rey, herself. My point is, a LOT of churches are against gay rights (even when they try to cover it up by saying that they simply don’t agree with the lifestyle). And being a celebrity, you’ll definitely attract attention by walking into a regular old church. Celebrities attend these types of churches because it gives them the option to attend without sticking out. Besides, you can go to church and not agree with everything that the church has to offer. We know Lana loves her gay fans and I think people are looking too deep into her attendance. Besides, most celebrity churches are just a breeding ground for “inspirational” life stories and don’t have strict laws for what is discussed and preached

I’m sorry for the mini essay, that post was just bothering me. I hope my reasoning made sense:air2:

Wait correct me if I’m wrong but is that why she’s laughing throughout it? Because she really doesn’t agree with his sermon? Or am I just reading too much into it?

  2. Spoiler

taco truck x vb has me :rip:

these are my winners for anyone who gives a fuck:

taco truck x vb - this just has LA written all over it. it's like if silverlake/echo park had a theme song, stopping at the taco truck (which my favorite taco truck is actually in echo park and it's called TACO ZONE no joke it's by the safeway close to the dodger stadium check it out) then we drive down the 10 and end up in venice. it's INSANE. this is 10/10 my favorite song. there's something kind of sweet about her closing with an LA song. I think it alludes to her past and where she stays planted after singing about the midwest & paris, tx, alabama, rhode island, etc.

peppers - this mega bop is just so sultry and nonchalant. she's telling you like it is, no fucks given. I think it goes hand in hand with A&W tbh.. she always knows how to push the boundaries in every fuckn way possible and then you think about her capacity after singing some heavy shit like GRANDFATHER PLZ... testing + for COVID but whatever life is like this. forever listening to this song on high.

fishtail- This is an example of a song only LDR can make. holy fuck i'm so obsessed. it's so raw in its meaning and what she's singing about. like warnings of heartbreak and the outcome - which was obvious heartbreak & they wanted her sadder. the beat just flows so well with the lyrics.

a&w - we all know about this masterpiece. what gets me the most about this song is the juxtaposition of the confessionals of the first part compared of jimmy jimmy. it's like she told you the hard truth in a very gentle way about her love life is and then jimmy jimmy is when she lets it out and shows you what she really means.

fingertips- it's very personal. i'm pretty sure this is the most direct she's ever been about her life and what she's been through in her past with her family. this is so much insight and i'm still trying to process all of it. suddenly a lot of makes sense of why family means so much to her .

sweet - if you want some basic bitch go to the beverly center and find.

candy necklace - i know you'll be on my favorites too.

    that's it that's all

so many people are misinterpreting the "I’ll finally be into when I’m 45." part. The Grants is beautiful, it's actually my 2nd favorite on the album so far, but the lyrics are a hit or miss. you either completely relate to them or they just... dont have much significance. it's hard to relate to it if you're like 16 or don't really care much about your family history, something most people tend to appreciate and dig into once they're older and look back at their childhood memories and start wondering why they are the people that they have become. personally, i relate to the lyrics A LOT but it's very obvious a lot of people just won't, at all :xgiggle:

I’m 29. I don’t relate to it because I’m gay. Maybe when I’m 45 I will? There is no right or wrong answer. That was my personal opinion. This fandom loves to attack and just be negative towards everything. Sorry for speaking my fuckn mind.

I think A&W was one of the last songs written for the album, because obviously the Cruel Summer like beat is meant to hint that the “singer who still looks like a side piece at 33” is her friend 33 year old Taylor Swift. And the “side piece” is a dig at how Taylor was a “side writer” on SOTB :true:

    wait wtf???

  5. A&W went back in time and met LDR pre-BTD (before she met Rick Knowles) AND WAS LIKE this is the future. I’m still mind blownnnn like I can’t wrap my mind around the first 4 minutes and the transition to Jimmy. I just picture LDR writing of this experience now from when she knew Jimmy leaving her trailer in NY to meet up with him in NYC. I think that’s what I’m interpreting right now.

  6. Has anyone read the Billie x Lana interview? I’m pretty sure a new pact has been made in the world of music. The way they talk about each other and the support they get is mind blowing. It truly is artists supporting artists. I think Billie did a great job highlighting Lana’s insight and getting Lana to express what she couldn’t before without stepping on a time bomb. It felt like Billie was like all praise, but I mean cmon, you’re interviewing Lana.

the way Lana will always praise the other rather than herself speaks volumes too. Amazing interview! Love these supremes.
