  1. Wait, what?  :rip: I never heard about this. Other than that my point still stands tho.

    https://guitargirlmag.com/news/music-news/cruel-youth-releases-devil-in-paradise/

I started writing this song with my husband Willy after I had just met with Ronnie Spector – my idol from the band The Ronettes. We saw her play a show in the city right after she’d done Glastonbury Festival, 50 years after her first hit – she was my everything! After a 2 hour meeting in a grand hotel uptown, I agreed to try write an EP of original songs for her. She was so kind to me, and I was captured by her memoir detailing her escape from her horrifically abusive marriage to Phil Spector, her producer and also punisher. She barely made it out alive, and moved back to NYC to start her life over… while Phil Spector went on to shoot dead another woman, and remains in prison for murder. Her strength inspired me to write this song, but when I started writing the lyrics I found myself drenched in the truths I had prayed to never face, and I realized it couldn’t be for anyone else but me.

  2.

Ooh interesting. Thank you for sharing

I don't think it's a proper band though, or that all of the songs they make together are for pitching. Seems like it's more of like a personal team name, they haven't used it professionally outside of this site from what I've seen, Devil in Paradise is a Teddy x Stelios x Tighe song but it was released as Cruel Youth

We actually do know that Devil in Paradise was a pitched song initially, so that doesn't necessarily serve the point. She had written it for that Ronnie Spector EP that never ended up coming together.

  3. Tame the Young

    Gone 'Til Forever

    Gatorade

    Lace

    Paper Substitute

    Midnight Ocean

    Electric Gates

    Atoms

    Painting Out the Sun

    Nothing to Say

    Someone to Die For

Is this an album tracklist or....?

Edit: Ah, I see. New registrations.

  4. was Wild At Heart like the original album for SF1 before NTMT came into being?

It was the second album concept out of like four she went through before Night Time, My Time. The first concept was called Cry Baby. The second was Wild at Heart. After that, it was I'm Not Alright. The final one before she settled on Night Time, My Time was I Will.

  5.

and I think it's called You Don't Know Me, instead of The New Black

Nope! The official title is "The New Black". Traders passed it around as "You Don't Know Me".

  6. Idk why you’re moody. I posted here about it because nobody did, “we know” lol weird flex but ok

I mean, if you bothered to look back like two or three pages, you'd see that it has been posted about before, pretty extensively.  :deadbanana:

It was only 2 lol and people had Alien and a few others for years. Downtown leaked cause she was literally selling it for $25 and Last Chapter leaked cause Melanie fans. She literally has like another 100 unreleased a lot of titles people don’t even know.

She only sold two songs or....? 'Cause I've heard it's at least a dozen new tracks that are now circulating because of her selling.

  7. She actually wasn’t selling Alien, people had that before she was selling.

I know that. I'm just saying that her selling stuff flooded the market and either directly or indirectly caused all those leaks.

  8. NEON IS OUT HERE SELLING HER OWN UNRELEASED I CANT

dm her on insta if you interested girls

Yeah, we know. It's not the first time she's announced it and she's already sold a lot. It's why the recent leaks happened (Downtown, Last Chapter, Alien, etc.).

  9. (i think they were the demos right?)

Yeah, the "Florida Blues" and "Alexis Texas" versions leaked then were definitely demos and I think that version of "I Don't Love You" had a slightly different mix.

  10. Sorry guys, I'm just getting into her music but are we 100% sure that 'When I'm Looking At You' was recorded for "The Powder Room" ?

What about those songs, which projects do they belong to - It Ain't Right, Legends, Pure, Stupid Thing Called Love ?

Yes, the kind of '60s rock sound that "When I'm Looking at You" has is emblematic of The Powder Room material up to this point.

Strictly speaking, though, I would not be stressing over how to delineate what songs belong to each project. A lot of the stuff that just leaked was written to be pitched to other artists and sold, making it a moot point to say whether it's The Powder Room or Cruel Youth, since it's technically neither. I just label everything she does these days as Cruel Youth, since it makes sorting in my iTunes library much easier.

  11. Did anybody who had the original files happen to have more info on the unregistered songs, as far as who the cowriters beyond Teddy were? Still need that info for all these songs:

    Happiest Girl
Madness [the Natalia Kills era song]

    New Winter
    Say Anything
    Straitjacket
    When I'm Looking at You

  12. Ma’m i will follow the rules when Lana stops being a republican

I mean, she's a registered Democrat and so is all her family. All that "centrist" stuff she's talked about before isn't really reflective of anything she's actively supported.

  13. Btw did we ever find out if Goodbye is for Trouble or an early Cruel Youth (''NK3'') demo? it seems more like the latter tbh but I'm not sure

Pretty sure we've always placed it in the post-Trouble, pre-Cruel Youth era (evidently alongside "Straitjacket" and "Madness").

  14. TPR madness is just screaming though, the NK madness sounds like an actual song

The instrumental of The Powder Room one is far better than the NK one, though. That's most of the reason why I like it.

  15. Might as well do a ranking of all the leaks so far, just so there's a little more content going on in this thread. Do your own if you like!

    Full songs -

    Great:
    Happiest Girl

    Madness/100,000 Fires
    Mr. Badman
    My Guy

    Good:
    Delete My Number
    New Winter

    Vultures
    When I'm Looking at You
You've Really Got a Hold On Me

    Meh:

    Pure

    It Ain't Right

    Boring/Trash:

    Legends
    Stupid Thing Called Love

    Snippets -

    Great:

    Straitjacket

    Good:

    Say Anything

    Meh:

Alexis Texas demo [Glad they changed the lyrics 'cause they aren't as good as the final ones]

    Boring/Trash:

Florida Blues demo [Literally just sounds louder and messier]

  16. Also, anyone knows what she's doing nowadays, it seems like after these two Butter tracks she completely dissapeared...

She's working as a screenwriter and director, as part of a feminist horror film production collective. The only thing she's released since 2018 is "Angry Too".

  17. Is there even unleaked stuff from those era's?

Yeah, this is all that I know of, but I think there's more.

    Amore

    Baseline
    Cinderella
    Control
    Daddy
    Elevator
    Falling
    Freeze Time
    It’s My Show
    Make It Some Day
Next Big Game [probably related in some way to Next Big Me]
    Piece of Me
    Slide
    Symmetry

  18. Is this just supposed to be Cruel Youth stuff and not stuff she made under other names? cause if not it's missing a lot of stuff

Also I haven't heard of a lot of these titles

Just Cruel Youth/The Powder Room era. I'm aware that there's a lot of Natalia Kills/Natalia Cappuccini/Verbalicious/Verbz stuff missing.
