What if The Devil Never Cries is a real title and it's Lana saying she's the devil (cause the media portrayed her as such) but she's strong so she never cries It's giving Mary (Scared of Me) but I like the concept

I've been thinking lately that the DNC thing may be unrelated to the album. What if the LDRVillage director said it would maybe be part of future merch just cause Lana wore it? Like for example if Chemtrails merch had some flannels At the same time it's weird that she would wear a jacket almost identical to the MV one with a different logo with 3 random letters in her first official public appearance in quite some time. She also had a little polaroid photoshoot with a different look but the same jacket I was a firm believer of the DNC theory but after reading in the W Magazine interview that the album doesn't have a title yet... cause the interview could be older than the pictures but not that old. Maybe she already scrapped the first title and DNC is not the title track anymore and just an album track. Or maybe she scrapped the whole thing I'm conflicted cause Lana doesn't seem the type to be leaving little clues about her next stuff (she usually just announce things out of the blue) but there are a lot of suspicious details surrounding the DNC thing

I want dynamic production that changes and builds up throughout the song (like the BB version of Thunder that starts with the eerie strings and the piano, then gets a guitar and after the first chorus it "explodes" with the percussion coming in). Arcadia also did a good job with the horns in the second half but it was more subtle. I trust Drew's orchestra . Not sure about Jack unless he comes through with the electric guitar of some NFR tracks tho cause I for sure don't want random tambourines playing in only one of my ears

She always has a couple of more upbeat songs on her albums (maybe BB being the exception unless you count The Trio and Dealer ) so we're probably getting something fun regardless of the general sound of the album. I also don't see her having angry unfiltered lyrics with just a piano in the background so maybe we're getting some grunge guitar action going on (unless it's an album full of angry "ballads" like WFWF which I wouldn't be against but I get why some people would be over the piano tracks)

What if her "voice memo songs" are similar to the lizzy laptop acapella demos (but with actual production added to the final thing)

LFL showed us that she has no problem in mixing 2 (or more) different concepts in the same record if she suddenly changes her mind . I guess the conversational songs are the last ones she recorded and she has the fun ones already locked in for the album (even though we have 0 confirmation of bops incoming other than collective delusion, which I love)

Imagine if we had a full documentary on the recording process of UV with Dan... I need to know what really happened there cause it's the only time Lana worked with a producer for just one record and never went back to him again (not counting Mike and some other random one time producers obviously)

My Lana sense is tingling... there's something in the air. Lana and Rob in the studio teasing all the time and they suddenly stop... just in time for a magazine cover where she talks about the album And yes I personally decided to ignore the fact that Jack is on tour for my own sake . She was at the studio with him back in April when they recorded that song he talked about but I hope it was just a late addition Lana wanted to make on a whim cause she had the voice memo and was hanging around with him there and not a sign of things not being ready (I know I'm too greedy but in my defense it's Rob's fault for teasing that much )

I wonder where is she channeling her anger to this time. The possibilities are endless: - Pat (My Momma, WFWF, BBS...) - The media, fame (too many examples) - Alt singers (FMWUTTT, Qftc) - Ex lovers (In My Feelings, Dealer maybe) - In a more existential (?) way (G&M, The greatest) - Pat (again) I find interesting that one of the few details she gave about the album was "I'm angry" cause I didn't expect her to still be so I'm curious to see if she's doubling down on the same topics of BB or if she's giving us another "type" of anger. I just hope Jack doesn't get in the way and we get to see the real unedited rambling that comes out of Lana's mouth when she's angry and not the sugar coated version he'd want to put out to not get associated with any "controversy"

Artistic and scheduling freedom probably. As long as her management is good she won't have to sacrifice good promo but idk about budget (It's not like the label was giving her that much for MVs anyway so she'll be fine self funding)

Oh it makes sense. So she was basically making a triple album with Jack at that time I hope we get to hear some of that eventually (maybe even sprinkled among some of the more wordy ones on LDR).

She looks so happy in every casual picture we've gotten from her this last couple of months she's glowing

Maybe I'm misremembering things but didn't Jack say during the Chemtrails pre release era that they used up every song they had for that album? If NFR and Chemtrails were indeed recorded almost at the same time, are the [redacted] NFR songs all a lie?

I'm so greedy for new Lana but I'm grateful I stan her and not an artist that puts out records every 3-4 years and then disappears from the earth until the next album cycle. Lana really spoils us I don't think there has been a single year since 2011 when we didn't get at least a new (official) Lana song (maybe 2016? and probably something leaked that year anyway)

Same. I want a snippet cause I'm so curious about the sound of the album. I don't want another NFR tho, but a small snippet from the lead single and some other random album track wouldn't hurt

I miss the iconic LDR font. I kinda wish we get another classical Lana cover like BTD or UV with the big letters

I love how I automatically went to "probably grocery bags" and then people were like DRUGS, BODY BAGS, MURDER, MORGUE I hope it's your theories and not mine. Your concepts sounds much more interesting than what I thought it was about

She's back in California so I sense another IG photo dump of the dolphin flower sofa followed by a single announcement I still think that the polaroids back in April (+ the December DNC ones) were album related and she was filming some aesthetic footage for a MV/album trailer at that dam with Chuck. Also Neil acting all sneaky about a mystery photoshoot right before she left for NY or Italy (I can't remember the timeline). It's all falling into place

She's been traveling a lot and Rob hasn't teased from the studio in some time so it's either: - Album is done and they are just mixing and mastering stuff while planning the rollout + physicals Or - They are on a break cause Jack is on tour until August so she's taking some deserved time off herself too. It was also a pretty convenient time to stop (or to finish the album ) cause she had to go to NY to shoot the cover and then to Italy for the Gucci event so it was planned either way I guess. I still think it's weird that she hasn't teased any music or single if the album was indeed done cause she always releases something pretty ahead of the record so who knows. Maybe this time they want to start the "era" once everything is entirely ready (which I'd love but I'm scared of the whole album leaking before we even have a single )

I bet we are either getting a simple title (imagine another self titled ) or an obnoxiously long one similar to Chemtrails. I hope it's nothing corny like Inside My Mind: Thoughs and prayers I feel like we (myself included) are reading too much into what she told in the interview. I think she just said what felt more interesting about the album and the writing process and not necessarily about the album as a whole. We are probably getting a mix of some classical Lana tracks, piano ballads and angry rambling BBS style. Lana is the best at describing her music when saying little (like when she said NFR was "sad girl shit" or something like that) so I think the most clear concept would be "I'm angry"

I feel like people are expecting more of jenny jumped into the pool nikki lane was doing cocaine behind my truck but I think Lana's inner monologue is more abstract and intricate than that and we are getting really complex lyrics where none of us would have a clue about what the fuck she's talking about

I know I like to speculate a lot about what's coming without knowing a single thing but it's so funny seeing people complaining about an album we haven't heard yet

Same... one of my favorite things about Lana is her storytelling and how she paints really clear pictures with her lyrics so I'm not sure about her approach for the next album. At the same time I'm not that worried cause even if her recent output has been lyrically different in style it still had the foundations of what I love about Lana's music. I just hope the melodies are strong and it's not too much like a spoken word album, we already have her poetry for that
