  1. just saw — in Insta comments on the interview post. someone asked if it’s coming today and he gave a thumbs up emoji
  2. omg maybe my first time being right with a prediction! we’ll see, don’t forget meeeee like the tunnel under ocean blvd
  3. Jimmy is for sure Jack’s nickname for Lana. He even put it in one of his own songs and talked about it in an interview, so she could be talking about herself… My personal guess that AW is how she feels the media has portrayed her (given her comments about this and saying she even dressed very modestly and it didn’t matter to them) versus “Jimmy,” or the person she actually is to her friends and family, especially since that’s a Jack track it makes sense they’d put her nickname in there. That would be a beautiful topic for a song with two distinct sections like was mentioned! rederence for nickname: https://www.nme.com/news/music/jack-antonoff-says-theres-more-humour-in-lana-del-reys-music-than-people-think-3010161 ”Discussing Del Rey, who he worked with on her 2019 album ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell!’, and who Antonoff has affectionally nicknamed ‘Jimmy’, he said: “What I love about working with Lana is that there’s so much more humour in their music than I think people understand.”
  4. ahhh ok I see, good point!! ty ❤️
  5. idk why I’m not comprehending, I think it’s the punctuation on Lana’s post, but can someone tell me what they think her caption meant? that she would’ve agreed to sing a second verse if she knew she was the only feature on the song or album? the comma after “I knew” throws me off lol
  6. wow! I haven’t heard the song (“flo”)… to listen or to wait for Lana’s version? 👀
  7. That’s what I love most about her, she is always trying to grow FOR HERSELF. It’s not about “reinvention” (an arbitrary and selfish demand the media places on artists so therefore the GP does too). Lana’s writing is the North Star of her art—it’s no longer the grand sound her label pushed for, it’s her imagery, her iconography, the geography, and her life story—which was all on even BTD, hidden underneath expensive and precise production. I think what she thinks about most is how she can evolve as a writer, which is a personal decision that often has nothing to do with a pre-set sound or even aesthetic. She’s made it clear she always follows her muse—the genuine inspiration that comes to her while she’s driving or drinking her coffee, or at some gardening store (God knows where)! That is such a gift and she always honors it and follows it. I think a lot about the Interview Magazine interview where she said she knows where she needs to go as a writer, but it’s going to take a lot of work and isolation, maybe even classes. Who else out there is even talking about that? She’s just on another plane to me, and it’s truly inspiring. For her to wade into AUTOMATIC SINGING (?!) and trust in herself enough to put those works on the album show a genuineness, vulnerability—even an imperfectness to her art (first takes, voice memos, voice breaks, etc.) that is extremely rare in manufactured music these days. Yet she still holds acclaim as one of the greatest artists of our generation. Literally her raw cuts and demos could outperform full studio records from most of the biggest artists today. She’s in a league of her own!!!
  8. The eerie imagery of an abandoned 1930s tunnel, full of subway tile, once-glittering is so powerful. Every time she sings don’t forget me I feel the ache like I’m watching that tunnel, in slow motion, go from its golden, shining prime to being forgotten and decayed and unknown to the public. Don’t forget me can be an intimate and personal statement that you say to a partner, or it can whispered into the void, a pleading for the world, like did I matter here? Will my art withstand time, will it withstand anything? Don’t forget me, remember I was here and remember that, for however long, I mattered. It makes me want to sob. I think it’s some of her most powerful imagery yet, and given that she’s the queen of painting a scene, that’s saying a magnificent amount.
  9. OBSESSED! It has the mood of IYLDWM, the self-reflection and geographic feel of NFR/Chem/BB, the yearning love feel of BTD era, some Honeymoon strings, and the pulsating heartbeat of LMLYLAW (except it’s what I wish it had been)! A SERVE so excited for this album!!!!!!!! think I will do standard and pink versions 😭
  10. OMG HELP WHICH COLOR DO WE GET, THERE’S SO MANY 😭😭😭😭😭 I love the standard cover but also the pink vinyl version
  11. I really hope she tours, I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve never seen her live 😭 I was a casual fan since 2013-2014 but wasn’t a true stan until 2018-2019 and the NFR tour didn’t come to my area. I wasn’t able to travel to it! *manifesting a DYKTATUOB tour*
  12. what about Etsy India? They have a 1980s vintage AT listed (ships from Sweden I guess). No Bluetooth obviously, but could hook to a speaker! Looks like when I convert this one is $130 USD maybe? 👀 Idk if shipping would be outrageous… https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/1355749839/hitachi-ht-40-s-audio-technica-at?click_key=6749d190613e5a0d6d89514094161f4acf9e63db%3A1355749839&click_sum=70432f6e&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=audio+technica&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&edd=1&sts=1 General search: https://www.etsy.com/in-en/search?q=audio technica
  13. DAMN. I’m sorry, I wasn’t sure how bad it would be. I’ll let you know if I find any in India for a good price and quality through my searches!
  14. I have a vinyl player and a pretty large collection! I totally see the value in buying a vinyl if you can’t play it—half of it is the aesthetic experience. Having a large version of the artwork and booklet to look through is a lot of fun, and you can frame/display as well. if you’re looking for a high quality, inexpensive (well, as inexpensive as they get without ruining your records *cough Crowley suitcase players*) record player, I’d recommend buying a discontinued one from Audio Technica via E-Bay, any version of the LP60, look for one with Bluetooth. You can beam it to a Bluetooth speaker or you can get a large double headphone jack and hook it to any speaker! It goes for $100-200 USD: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=audio+technica+lp60&_trksid=p2380057.m4084.l1311&_sacat=0 EDIT: If you’re in the US, you could find any lower cost player right on the Audio Technica website and it will be great quality, but AT doesn’t ship outside of the continuous US, sadly, which is why E-Bay would be great for this kind of player for anyone international.
  15. something tells me we’ll realize what it is once the album’s released—maybe a track that was going to be the title track but then wasn’t? 👀
  16. I am honestly in awe of her emotional endurance—pushing forward with an album release while rebounding from your art being stolen and your entire manuscript going missing. I would’ve cried for 8 business years, but here she is ready to serve again. AOTY incoming, I really feel it
  17. HOW WILL WE SLEEP FROM HERE ON OUT time to become an annoying little historian in the meantime: https://lbpost.com/hi-lo/long-beach-lost-the-jergins-tunnel-was-dtlbs-gateway-to-the-beach https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-09-17-hl-534-story.html
  18. lmao I love how extra this is, but wbk if it was on streaming it would be in my top tracks immediately because I’ll take any new Lana song and stream it to a pulp 🥲
  19. My top 5 a week in, although I’m not fully confident in the order tbh—like objectively I think WCS could be tied for first critically, but Anti-hero is such a huge vulnerable leap for her and is therefore first for me as a long-time swiftie: 1) Anti-hero 2) Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve 3) You’re on Your Own Kid 4) Karma 5) Maroon (Lavender Haze has grown on me so much! Used to be bottom half for me, it’s top half)
