She's actually said no releases would happen between after school and mm3 but I just can't believe that. Pastelae is reposting so much old Melanie stuff on Twitter and teasing titles like Needle & Thread, Mel is dead silent apart from an occasional story share like she's about to announce something, and she's not made an Instagram post at all since her birthday. It's really feeling like she's waiting for the right moment to say something. Reguardless, the album absolutely will not go without another leak if she chooses to continue on the film route for a 2023-2024 release date, which is the absolute soonest a film could be ready for release considering production has not even begun. Not when so much, be it completed or otherwise, is in people's hands.

^ I hope she just drops the film. I don't want visuals all that much but if we're getting them, music videos are more where I think she does a great job.

I just want the album, I don't care about visuals but if she's gonna do them I'd really prefer music videos.

My hope is she releases a full length 15-17 track album and then an EP rounding out at about 20-25 tracks total for the era and just drops the movie. The movie hasn't even been able to start production because of COVID. Let's say for the sake of things the script is done and accepted. Then there's location scouting, casting, budgeting, all that which will take 4-6 months at least, then wardrobing, hair, ect. Then she has to film which would take 1-2 months at least and even after that was all done it would still need editing, post production, scoring, ect and for k-12 just post-production took around a year and a half. If she wants to release a film at the same time as the album we won't get the album until 2023-2024. That's saying she begins shooting this year which just can't happen when the film likely hasn't been approved for a budget yet, let alone casted or scouted. I love dragon's blood but I hate the really short tracks phase she's in. She's also in this phase of not adding bridges and doing only 1 or 2 verses which is contributing to making tracks even shorter. (Notebook, Brain & Heart, and multiple other recent tracks are either lacking a bridge, have few verses, or both)

A good album doesn't require visuals to make sense. That's why people hate k-12. It relies on the film (which isn't that good) to make sense.

wiki says 2015, placing it with k-12 You can put it in either, but honestly a lot of crybaby outtakes can go in either since they were recorded around the same time.

Unhappy Meal isn't really a crybaby track, but it's not a k-12 track either. Crybaby had already released when it was recorded. If anything, I'd consider it her hiatus era like Piggyback. Also, a lot of k-12 was recorded at the same time as crybaby tracks and especially extra clutter tracks so recording dates don't really mean much. (Examples: Strawberry Shortcake & Class Fight's original version being recorded around the same time as Gingerbread Man & Seesaw) Then we have examples like Show & Tell and Notebook being written around the same time. Most of these tracks we've been placing with Crybaby honestly could've been K-12 scraps, like Arts & Crafts which was recorded far closer to Strawberry Shortcake than anything on crybaby.
