I was hoping she'd ditch it for mm3 with COVID but she's still doing it. No music videos for this era sadly except for film clips... Idk who keeps funding these films or why because as said here earlier the last film did incredibly poorly. If it made up it's funding it did so by touring, merchandise and streams from both k-12 and crybaby.

Maybe this is just me but logically fire drill should be the opener and test me the closer, since test me is supposed to be the k-12 to mm3 bridge and fire drill was the k-12 credits. Something like Fire Drill Lost & Found Notebook History Glued Brain & Heart The Bakery Numbers Field Trip Copy Cat Test Me I know this is still kind of a mess, but there's some parts I think make sense. Like the bakery (working at a job melanie hated to fund her music) into numbers (melanie only being seen for streams or how much money she brings into the label) and Glued after the breakup song trio makes sense because it's about how too much or too little attachment can get you hurt. Some songs I really had to try to force in because they don't really fit, like copy cat doesn't really fit with the after school tracks, but overall I think this works kind of okay.

Imagine if she went for cool tones. Though if she did that she'd have to rebrand herself 100% since she's so known for her pastels and I doubt she'd want to do that. I don't think it'll happen sadly since I think pastels are genuinely her preferred colors but it would be nice if she went more to a blue/green/purple spectrum for an era over pink/orange/yellow again.

If you're talking about Michael Keenan with After School, their breakup was years ago (2017-2018 iirc).

I doubt the film is already done, and based on how active she is on tiktok right now I don't think she's filming right now. It's possible the videos are pre-recorded but if she were filming she'd probably be too busy to post them at this frequency ^^ and how she gets publicity but it's only on sources no one above the age of 12 cares about like that one award thing where K-12 lost to Frozen II. ^^^^ Melanie is very bad about release dates. It's why I don't believe shit until there's an exact day and even then I hesitate to trust it.

Yes but 6/7 songs on after school are under 3:30. K-12 isn’t really an issue when it comes to the length of songs, but after school is. I’m worried that because her most recent project had that problem her next one will too.

I’m not saying every song needs to be 4+ minutes long or that every song needs to have a full structure, but lately it seems like Melanie has been doing more songs under the 3 minute mark than not. I’d just like to see more of her songs be standard length (3-3.5 minutes) or longer.

I’m really over the super short songs with no bridges and only two verses too :/ Melanie had this phase in After School where every song either is under 3:30 with no bridge or is like 4+ minutes long. Most of the EP doesn’t even break the three minute mark. It’s a real shame because it makes the whole thing sound super unfinished even though it’s overall a refreshing era that I enjoyed much more than K-12. I really hope she doesn’t bring this into mm3.

I see where they get Final Conflict, it is registered on BMI but it seems to be registered for a DIFFERENT Melanie Adele Martinez or mistakenly registered to the wrong person (which isn't as uncommon as one would think). I'm just wondering why the other title they would've found at the same time wasn't also used for the list honestly.

Even melanie ignored the anniversary. The era overall wasn't great with a lot of bleh tracks. No one can ever convince me class fight is lyrically good (it could've bopped but the lyrics in some parts fall flat on their face). Wheels On The Bus and Drama Club are their own flops everyone wishes could've been replaced with boos.

I know this is 99.999999% bullshit BUT that song would be ruined by a feature, especially if it were a rap feature like all Mel's past features have been. Some songs are just best as solos and leche is one such song.
