atp, i really believes Crybaby is her only good album & thats just so sad & depressing to think about. I know how far this woman can go but im not feeling good about this project. When you dont even hear that 'signature' within the artist themselves in a genre-switch type of album, its not really a good sign, to change & develop your craft is so close to lost yourself to something else and im afraid she fell into that pitfall. And dont let me start with her songwriting, where did her Crybaby pen go? These snipets really tell me what I need to know, if they cant keep me excited then how?

Marina And The Diamonds - How To Be A Heartbreaker

Am i the only one who genuinly thinks this is even better than Plastic Hearts? We get literally that rock taste from PH, a bit country pop from Younger Now, psychedelic à la Dead Petz, smash hit pop sound from Bangerz, a revamp of Cant Be Tamed dancepop rock, even a bit of her Hannah Montana child-like, innocence in a few songs. Yet it still sounds like its own authentic self. Yeah its not Bangerz level but its surely better than Plastic Hearts (which was a nice album I personally found her attempt of being a rockstar was half-assed & tryhard, even cheesy at some point of this era instead of let herself 100% live up to it) and surely waaay better than Younger Now.

my Endless Summer Vacation review after first listen: Track 1: Flowers. Well, its a 4/10 Track 2: Jaded. Plastic Hearts leftover? 5/10 Track 3: Valley gurl tunes / indie wannabe. A 5/10 Thousand miles: Hannah Montana x The 1975 right here. 7/10 You: Jazzy & cute af. 7.5/10 Handstand: HEAD BITCH IN CHARGE. SHE ATE THIS SHIT UP FR. MY TOP OF THE ALBUM NO BULLSHIT. 10/10 River: "Who Owns My Heart / Permanemt December" revamped. 8/10 Violet Chemistry: One of the most complex, bizzare, trippy & experimental moment that Miley could get to...?. 9.5/10 Muddy Feet: A neccessary screamer / Plastic Heart sequel. 6.5/10 Wildcard: I didnt care about this song tbh. 5.5/10 Island: Summer chillpop serve. She really took 10 songs to get to an actual song that screams "Endless Summer Vacation". 8/10 Wonder Woman: One of the best Miley ballads in years! ABBA realness right here. Supposed to be a ten but since "a six minute power ballad closes the album" was a lie then minus one for this 💀. 9/10 And i cant believe she ditched Mirror & Taste of My Own for that boring & lackluster cookie-cutter "Day" side

That aside, WW has a beautiful melodie & one of her sharpest / most honest songwriting to date (Ocean Blvd hasnt released yet so we'll see). And about that 'badly mixed' / over-noised percussion at the end of the song - I personally think it was intentional: Which sounds like fire cracking and her voice itself with the song catched the fire and then they burn altogether afterwards It's still one of her most interesting song she ever made and i can see Ocean blvd is following that path (but of course, she's progressively got better because Ocean blvd was said to be better than BB after all)
