literally exactly this. even electronic music, like in this day and age you couldn’t have giorgio moroder, skrillex, arca and charli xcx in the same category. even fiona apple shouldn’t be in the rock category. her work on fetch the bolt cutters doesn’t even have a classified genre for a start.

agree 100%. maybe the grammys needs to diversify more. i definitely think the recording academy should take a step back and reconsider categorisation. we actually commented when watching the announcement that a lot of the categories are unfair (why is there a christian category? and no other religions? as noted a few months ago, the dalai lama released an album earlier this year to positive response). the grammys really need to reconsidered the structure of their award shows. maybe the grammys shouldn't let artists submit and should just let people well-versed in their field make the judgement of all releases they consider under their category. i'm sure if i were selecting for a category and an album i loved wasn't submitted i would be very upset to not be able to vote for it.

i know a lot of the weeknds fans will be on his side, and they totally have a right to be! but the amount of women that have lost awards to men over the years (literally any scenario where ed sheeran has won an award) and they’ve just had to take it with grace...idk maybe i’m just completely over the grammys. for me it’s less about being caught up in who didn’t get nominated or who didn’t win and just celebrating who did. there are probably millions on millions of artists who deserve grammys more than the people actually nominated but for the millions of faceless acts no one acknowledged there always seems to be too many celebrity millionaires thinking their work is more valid because it charted.

in fairness i wrote this before reading the TMZ article so this makes a lot more sense, but for the amount of female artists that got snubbed this year i still feel like i don’t care that much. woman ran absolute loops around men this year. his album is literally one of the only notable albums released by a man in 2020. i still don’t think the grammys as such a be all end all that “him and his fans are owed explanation”. the grammys have always been corrupt, just look at billie’s wins. it’s funny how the grammys are only corrupt when it affects a man and not fiona apple, or rina sawayama or fka twigs who all arguably had better albums and from the looks of their social media took the rejection with 10,000x more grace. if this was about some underlying problems with the grammys, he should have said that, not that a superficial award show “owes him”. sorry that turned into a bit of a rant LMAO.

i think this is embarrassing omfg. the grammys don’t owe anyone anything. they’re shit every year it’s no different every single year when we sit back and let them snub all of our favourite female artists. idk why artists let this one award show genuinely get under their skin, i think everyone’s social media outbursts today have been really embarrassing, not just the weeknd :/

skkk literally! the only thing i don’t like about my page is maintaining the backdrops, it’s really hard getting everything a consistent white and i want my theme to be prettier :/ i actually have the opposite problem - i have the brown boom and flask and like nothing else from her “big merch items” like her other books LMAO. everyone seems to have the blue and green book and not the brown one but i’m the opposite. i got it by absolute chance on depop for £60 signed and that was probably one of my best cheap snags. i really need the other books tho, i keep putting off buying them and they’re only getting more expensive :/

i don’t collect her dresses because it’s not really an official thing, i only have a couple of her outfits and most of them are just things that mean something to me (like dresses she wore at my shows). i also have lots of unofficial things / things my mum buys me / dupes of things and i don’t even know it so my collection posts are always a MESS. awhile back i also posted my merch sheet so that you can track what % of items you own if you’re looking for a full collection. i wanted to have 75% of her merch by the end of the year but it’s looking like it’ll end at just over 70% for me :/ but this year i’ve gotten so many rare things and things i thought i’d never have that i feel good anyway! also yes i love your IG! i need to be more active honestly but i’m so lazy :’(

Officially at 302 pieces of individual official merch. honestly i just post here and expand my list so i actually know what i have for my own information at this rate. just gonna include the violet merch drop even though its not out yet so i don't forget about it later, cause i always tend to forget about things i actually buy from her store. also i'm sooo glad i can now add new merch drops to a section that's not NFR cause NFR is getting long and messy. i have a lot of shit coming in the mail, i really want to do another master post with photos at maybe the end of december - i have some really awesome pieces coming in the mail like massive gucci guilty adverts that are gonna look amazing together. i'm also working on an informational website for collectors that i would like to try and debut at the end of the year, for anyone whose interested. i think now that i'm hitting the 300 mark its starting to really dawn on me how big the collection is. when you put it in boxes it isn't that much, most of it is clothing at this point so it just tucks into my wardrobe, but damn this might actually be the biggest collection of stuff out there. i definitely think i wanna slow down a bit, especially after getting a lot of the stuff i've wanted for a long time recently. collecting is a really fun hobby tho, i'm really glad i've had the challenge of maintaining a collection over the past few years to keep me busy. for anyone interested i want to start posting on my collectors instagram again soon and you can find it on @yourolllikethunder on ig! as someone who is always carefully watching her restocks it’s always 50/50. nfr was weird because they restocked pieces at different times, and some things like the surf shop were limited to exactly how many were bought. i’m sure if they wanted to manufacture 200 they could have, is what i’m kind of thinking. consider the fact that in retail the manufacturing cost of an item is normally around half or less of what it’s sold for, so maximum i bet they spent 5,000 on all them. she has literally millions of fans, so why did they only make 100? she literally could have limited them to 500 and they still would have sold out. it’s just a really weird number to limit them to imo :/ but i’ve never ran a merch team so fuck knows honestly. also consider the mess with things like the necklaces too. she was just randomly restocking that shit over the course of three years. then she has things that are on her web store for five minutes and then we never see them again basically if anyone is debating buying something i would just do it cause this p*ta honestly makes her fans run around for her merch too much

dom put 9999 of each item in his basket and when he did it would tell you want the in stock quantity was. he did it just as the merch was announced and figured everything that wasn’t shirts and hoodies were limited to about 100. she might restock but it also says it’s a “christmas collection” which we’ve never seen before for lana stuff, so maybe they won’t. they definitely won’t restock post christmas so maybe just one restock and that’s it. or maybe they actually want it to be limited so they won’t restock, but the site doesn’t specifically claim any of this is limited. it’s a 50/50 waiting game to see if it restocks basically.
