her worst opening track ever. but then it's her worst album, so it's only fitting.

Absolutely! Taylor's doing it, Beyonce's done it, Harry Styles, Ricky Martin... Pop stars have an expiration date. And while Lana is ever-lasting, diversifying her career would be a smart move. I also think she has that star persona, old Hollywood glam, and she'd fit in a noir seamlessly. She should work with Lynch.

Those photos are to die for! Even if it was just Lana with that yellow shirt and bow standing there, it'd be a fire cover. You do have great taste. Is the movie itself as good as it looks?

Honestly, after spending a gazillion dollars on Candy Necklace and getting, like, 9 views, I don't imagine Interscope would be willing to cash out for another big video production. I also do think that music videos are on a such a massive decline, with even Beyonce not having done one for Renaissance. Now, I love music videos, and Lana's a genius with the right director (Candy Necklace: EPIC SLAY). But, let's face it, the last LDR videos that performed well were DCMA and Doin' Time, and that's because both of those had a good beat. I feel like folks will play videos when they wanna be entertained, or they're with their friends and wanna show off their favorite artist and like mess around/dance together. But even that's not a guarantee of success. Just look at Kylie Minogue's Padam Padam, one of the biggest songs of 2023 that accumulated 24 M only. So, while I'd love her to have a video for Lasso, obviously, I wouldn't cry if she doesn't. Give the money to charity. Now, if it was an upbeat radio-friendly song with a pulse or a Dolly Parton collab, then it'd be a shame not to have one.

And that's none of your business.

As I've said a few times before, I'd like sth like Lil Nas X Old Town Road with beats and a guest star (Migos?). At least for a single. Not feeling country from the 1920s when we're in 2024. Also, please go back to blocking me. It was cooler that way.

At this point, I wonder if Charlie is autistic or sth.

Rob: 2023 Charlie: 2024 Chuck: 2025. Mom: 2026. Grandpa: 2027. Aunt: 2028. Pool cleaner: 2029. Woman who does Lana's laundry: 2030 I'm excited!

This will definitely be the soundtrack song. The trailer just dropped, the show is on its way. Definitely a single from that. Then I guess we can expect Lasso single a month after that. The only thing is, I don't think Henry will be the first single. It's very slow (unless it blows up into beats or a big orchestra later in the track). I mean, I adore the snippet, and it sounds like a great song, but after a bunch of low-key first singles (OB, BB, LMLYLAW), we need a banger and Lana back on Billboard. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Guys, I need the first proper Lasso single to come out ASAP. If the album is slated for September, when do you think we'll get it? May?

Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards
barttttender replied to Elle's topic in Awards & Nominations
Obviously, they don't even listen to the music. Someone needs to do an internal review of the voting process. Clearly, they've lost the plot to their own ceremony, and lost all their credibility over the years. It's literally just a popularity contest. All they've got going for them at this point is the brand name, longevity, and the money to make it look glam. -
I'm so not listening to leaks anymore. The OB leak era was excruciating. The song were out of sequence, they had those bizarre vocal samples, the quality was rough. Never putting myself through that again. Wait till the release date, listen to the songs in HQ, and most importantly in sequence.

Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards

it's a strange little relationship when you think about it. Very unexpected. It's like a prissy grade A cheerleader hanging out with the drama school kid who smokes pot with the "freaks". I guess opposites attract. that said, taylor has good taste and she's clearly a very clever good businesswoman. If there's one ally you'd want in the music industry, it's her. btw any photos of miley and lana together? I wonder where their relationship is after angel. Is liley on ariana's side? Like what's happening with that? also we need a lana x quavo or migos collab assp! -

Love this: "If I wanted to just sit in the corner quietly, I wouldn't turn up with Taylor fkn Swift." So true. It's a great publicity moment for Lana at least. Let's look at it this way. Even more Taylor groupies might tune into Lana now, and that mean more money for Lana. -

so since lana left the party with Quavo probably to smoke pot or do a line of coke, do we think a collab might happen? manifesting this and the migos collab -

Yeah, producing more tracks like Doin' Time (her last bonafied hit) and Born to Die. If she did that and went the more pop route, and shook her booty in a thong like Miley and co do, they'd give it to her right away. #ThisIsAmerica. -

Well put, literal slap in the face. That said, it's just jealousy 1:1. They all fucking wish they could write a track like OB, let alone the whole album. -

I just can't believe they didn't give her Best Alt album. What a fucking joke. -

I'm sure she's disappointed as fuck. To get great reviews, song and album of the year nominations, best song of the year etc. by all major publications in America, and then to lose to Billie and co. again. It's norman all over again, but only on a larger scale. She's an absolute sweetheart who's better than the industry she's in, in every way possible and they fucking know it. That's why they didn't give it to her. It's pure jealousy. -
Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards
barttttender replied to Elle's topic in Awards & Nominations
this is literally the most embarrassing/awkward outcome we could have got. to lose five awards (after losing five times before already), and be showcased like a little pony by a lessor artist who just happens to have more commercial appeal. Yikes From this point on, i hope lana's records turn even darker, more obtuse, with even more expletives. Fuck america's commercialism, capitalism,'consumerism and mass product placement. Jesus. It should be about art, fucktards! -

Just woke up. Lana didnt win anything? how many of her categories are left? -
I respect your opinion. But then, for me, I just don't understand how people can diss Antonoff when he's produced (and co-written) some of Lana's best ever songs. Venice Bitch, Mariner's, Norman, The greatest, Wild at Heart, Happiness is a Butterfly, Chemtrails, FIILY, White Dress, A&W, Let the Light In, Ocean Boulevard, Taco Truck.... My only issue with him is that he hasn't tapped into Lana's pop sensibilities at all, like he did with Swift. Five years they've been working together now, and NOT A SINGLE SOLO LDR TRACK HE PRODUCED made it to the Billboard 100. Meanwhile, a throwaway song Rick Nowels produced (Say Yes to Heaven), makes the longest running entry since, like, High by the Beach. And then, of course, Zach Davies and those other guys are even more "yes men" who will never get Lana to do something poppish. This is the only reason why I wish Lana goes back to Nowells, Hayne, Max Martin, etc. So we could have a bonified solo hit. Who knows, maybe Lasso will be that bitch.

Our mother is feeding us her 10th album. Only a year after a multiple Grammy-nominated album. And we've still got Paradise, Violet and a 100 unreleased tracks on YouTube to listen to! Just be happy and say thank you, mommy

I mean, Lasso sounds very light and cheerful tbh. finally, you're in better spirits, lana. Cuz baby you've been bringing me down lol
