  1. Just mocked this up with AI, and I'm kind of liking it.
  2. yeah it's clearly meant to resemble old-fashioned paintings of white folks in imperial poses riding horses in, like, the reneissance. but even those were more realistic.
  3. I get that. But, again, if we prompted MidJourney, we woulda got the same result. And I don't like that. A bit more realism in terms of gravity etc woulda worked better. But its' just a personal thing.
  4. I see what you mean, but I disagree. The way she's sitting on the horse and the way the horse is moving, it just couldn't happen in real life. Hence, it teethers on looking like AI in a bad way. But still a great cover.
  5. My only complaint with the official cover is that it almost looks AI.
  6. I agree. Stunning! You know which cover is pretty bad? Ariana Grande's new album cover. What fresh hell is that. Although, the album itself is worth giving a spin courtesy of Max Martin. I hope Lana does something Americana and sexy. And yes, please, puckered lips need to make a comeback.
  7. Cardinal is a good opener, have to listen to the rest of it. Golden hour is still her best
  8. yeah, super boring. Hopefully, she drops something in the coming weeks. It's a long waiting game will September, and we need something to keep us interested.
  9. Been away for 10 days. No news at all, right?
  10. Been away for a week travelling. Any updated on lasso? I see lana is hanging with billie. Collab maybe?
  11. BB - super dark OB - super dark No way is Lasso going down the same path. Besides, Baby Blue, Henry, Prettiest Girl in Country Music all have a lighter tone.
  12. My ranking: Great 1. Born to Die 2. Ultraviolence 3. Ocean Boulevard 4. Paradise Okay 5. Lust for Life 6. Honeymoon Messy 7. Norman Fucking Rockwell (the cassestte cover would have been so much better - https://www.discogs.com/release/14065026-Lana-Del-Rey-Norman-Fucking-Rockwell) 8. Chemtrails over the Country Club Boring 8. Blue Banisters (snooze) Awful 9. AKA
  13. Not sure about the color palette for this record, but I reckon it will be a lighter record and Lana will be smiling on the cover.
  14. burnt norton is actually nice to listen to, and it's great that she's using good poetry. very on brand for lana. If she did that again, I wouldn't mind. A critic once said "If LDR was a Spice Girl, she'd be Literary Spice" and that's my all-time fav quote on Lana as it perfectly sums up her whole vibe as a pop star. the rest of the interludes are completely throwaway and unnecessary imo.
  15. Gold Derby officially more relevant than the Grammies.
  16. how many times was she nominated for this? has she ever won? they'll prolly give it to taylor or rodrigo. but then the brits in general loooove lana
  17. oh who cares. the first one left us hanging like a bunch of idiots. not falling for any more lana related accounts.
  18. nah. That song is bas but nowhere near as bas as, say, Summertime Gershwin,
  19. I will say, it's pretty weird how she teased this random song and then disappeared, complete with a photo/single cover (?) and everything. First of all, it's not first single vibes, it's clearly a low-key, quiet ballad. So, nothing like West Coast, Ride, High by the Beach, or even Ocean Boulevard and Mariner's. Secondly, why tease anything unless you're gonna follow up with something? I'm fine with having zero information, but gurrrl, don't tease us like that.
  20. Whoa, whoa, whoa. The woman is on the cusp of birthing her TENTH album in a little over a decade. Another lil' reminder: almost all her albums are well-received critically, some even lauded retroactively (like Born to Die). The woman DOESN'T owe us a smooth anything. She can drop it whenever the hell she wants, given how productive she is. Also, Beyonce's new album is similarly appearing out of nowhere. Dua Lipa has dropped two singles, and there's still no news on the album name, or release date. So, just chill, an count your blessings. We have an album name, the genre, the tentative release date, and even some of the songs. So, we good. Mother is feeding us well and keeping us warm. Shush.
  21. The album is definitely a grower. It's easy to get disappointed when you're programmed by the music industry to expect bangers. But then you realise that it's songs like OB, Sweet, Paris, Texas, Let the Light In, etc. are the kind of songs that stand the test of time. It's a timeless record, and sits firmly in her top 5. Definitely more repeat value than Chemtrails, BB, Honeymoon, and Paradise, imo.
  22. American Fiction, which was good but a bit boring. Should have been more absurdist and funny. Much prefered The Holdevers. Watchin The Zone of Interest next.
  23. The florida project is fab. Check out Red Rocket, I like it even more. The other week I DMed the director on Insta (Sean Baker his name is). And he responded to me. Basically, I said this newly-announced Kidman/Fanning project, Margot's Got Money Problems, would be perfect for him to direct, and explained why shortly. He said thanks, but that he doesn't do TV. Very cool guy. Fun fact: in one of her first big performances, Lana walked onto the stage to the main theme from this movie. Lmao.
  24. i was away for a week. Did i miss anything? Any news on lasso?
