  1. If these are fake they're very good at duping Lana. ... ... ...
  2. This era has been really fun. The fact that we're gonna have new music so soon (unlike Chemtrails which took forever for a song to be released) makes it much easier to enjoy the chaos.
  3. Mike Dean is literally such a perfect producer for Lana the two of them are both so strange and wild lmaoooooo
  4. Ever since Norman was announced it feels like it takes Lana forever to release new material, but if she successfully pulls off BB in 2021 that will mean she had an album in 2019, 2020, and 2 in 2021. Reminds me of the heyday in 2012 when we thought we were spoiled with Born to Die and then in the same year we got Paradise.
  5. Her chest voice is far more artificial than her head voice. You can hear it in the early live performances, especially for something like Blue Jeans, that she's just more comfortable singing high.
  6. I can’t believe this woman is working to release another album only 4 months after her most recent, and this fan board is full of complaints. This sounds fantastic. I’m just saying, Lana is gonna have the last word...
  7. This album is so nice to listen to front-to-back. 45 minutes, and every track adds something to the experience. Very nice.
  8. Smoking will change your voice (not great if you're a classical singer, which Lana is not) but vaping can absolutely destroy it. Maybe she realized she wants to hit those high notes for another ten years...
  9. Some of Jack's work with Bleachers is more rock-ish ... well, Alternative. I think Lana had a lot more to do with the overall feel of NFR and COTCC, and Jack was the support. I know Taylor Swift isn't popular here, but look at how different the production of Lover and the Jack-produced Folklore songs are. No guarantees, but I could definitely see something closer to "Dynamite" (one of my fav unreleased) for this album.
  10. Sometimes I get pretty drunk and I just think about how beautiful Lana's music is and just get really emotional. I remember being 12 years old and thinking that Diet Mtn Dew was the fucking best song in the world... and honestly? 12 year-old me kind of snapped! Her music has consistently been one of the only things that provides comfort during some ugly times. I'll never stop being grateful that Lana Del Rey is real and we get to live at the same time as her. For me, she is up there with Billie Holliday and Joni Mitchell as one of the all-time greats.
  11. "Breaking Up Slowly" is a great modern classic country song. If Nikki x Lana is more of the same, sign me up. Also, everyone has the right to be as thick as they want, especially Lana. Gtfo with your fat-phobia. And not to be a bitch, but Nikki Lane is also a great singer. If you don't like Nikki, are you a fan of Lana's influences? Can you see the extraordinary beauty in voices like Lou Reed, Nina Simone, or Leonard Cohen? Lana is in the rare category of singers who has A) an undeniably Great voice and B) is fairy easy to listen to, like Lee Wiley or Ella Fitzgerald, but the fact that her voice is really pleasing is not what makes her a Great singer. Nikki and Lana blend their voices in a beautiful bouquet of sound. Damn, I'm gonna listen to "Breaking Up Slowly" again haha.
  12. Sovereignty is a Butterfly doesn't quite have the same ring to it...
  13. Worth mentioning again that Weyes Blood sounds eerily like Joni Mitchell at the end of For Free. I think Lana is making a very conscious choice to sonically give the album back to the community of women that COTCC is dedicated to.
  14. I remember watching How Green Was My Valley. Then I was thinking: "How deep was the canyon that you came from?". Television static was quite overwhelming. Was it because of the cabin and the candles in the wind? The bridge is a descriptive scene of Lana and her partner watching a movie in a cabin on a windy night.
  15. Oof I was really starting to like the cover of this album until I got the vinyl. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the photo is very high contrast black and white and the way the cover is pressed... the two darker-skinned women are almost completely in shadow... not a great look.
  16. The real question is if the album is called ROCK CANDY ? SWEET or ? ROCK CANDY SWEET ?
  17. This is a great album. Lana produces amazing, gorgeous records. I know this is a Lana forum so it's taken for granted that everyone is a fan, but I really just have to hand it to the woman for her amazing discography ... and it seems she has no plans to slow down.
  18. I definitely believe this is her next album, but the timeline is def fishy haha. I'm going to assume it'll come out in December, since it takes 6 months to press enough vinyls for a day-in-date release — that's still 2 records in one calendar year. Impressive.
  19. This is maybe the worst assessment I've ever read of Born to Die. What the f is he talking about? B2D is a masterpiece of submission and mania, not "speaking truth to masculine power". Massive eye-roll.
