I've gone back and forth on if the "lie la lie"s in IYLDWM are a reference to Simon & Garfunkel "The Boxer." I always think of it. I can't see a thematic connection between the songs, but it's such a well-known chorus, I'm sure she would've had it in mind.

I feel the social media deletion is playing a role as well in how emotional this album feels. That feeling when Arcadia arrived and it all suddenly had the air of a goodbye. The album is dripping with raw emotion, reflection, vulnerability, tenderness. This is the right time of year, and the right time in lana's story for this.

I LOVE it when she sings "Nikki Lane" on BB. The musicality of the name, the rhythm of the syllables, the 2 different ways she draws out the "Laaaane," the rhymes with vane and pain and rain and baby on the way and green & grey, the specificity of the storytelling, the set-up for BUS, and a light splash of trolling given the fan sentiment about Nikki. It's super iconic.
