I agree with you, I listened to COCC and there’s something empty about it. Don’t get me wrong. There’s stuff we’ve never heard but I really think she could’ve done a lot more with the production and I wish her and jack didn’t strip it back as much. But white dress, dark is just a game, and wild at heart are stand outs. Not all who wonder are lost a good example of being simple but pretty, but I agree some more layers and subtle whispers or birds or something really would’ve been chefs kiss

I get WHY people can see Lana in it. I listened again and a lot of the background vocals, all the ahhhhhs, and in the beginning when she says Can I kick it? Yeah, I can. Reminds me a lot of NFR the way she’s more speaking the lyrics instead of singing. but I think a lot of the similarities are just Jack. He has a very diverse catalogue but lately has been doing a lot of this guitar kinda work.

Not manifesting just trying to decipher what’s in her head. The lyricism and story telling reminds me a lot of what she’s doing now. If you want me to be honest I’m really hoping for something along the veins of WW but with more intricate production. It reminds me a bit of ultraviolence with some of her vocal stylings and I’d be really happy to hear something in between UV and COCC.

also sorry to take this in a direction that i know a few people will hate, but this album reminds me a lot of the aesthetic that lana has submerged herself in hanging out in the midwest and the country and with people like Nikki Lane. If you get the chance you should listen, it puts my dogs to sleep and the harmonies realllllly hit a spot in your brain that makes you feel warm.

Well I just listened and I wouldn’t say it’s the worst thing ever. It sounds like something that will grow on people. I will say the production sounds a bit shallow and tinny. Not sure why, maybe it’s my phone speakers but it didn’t sound like it had any deep layers or bombastic sound. I can see similarities and the style of the lyrics in terms of Lana, but I think a lot of artists are influenced by her song writing. im sure the rest of the album will have a lot of interesting songs, her style is what made her famous in the first place as she sounds quite unique.

I think it's quite a take to call the new songs lazy. They may not be what you wanted but she poured her heart out and gave us her most intimate and vulnerable lyrics yet and i'm sure it was very hard for her to do, let alone any artist.
