The last 65 seconds of the song are perfect. This song is a grower - I'm starting to enjoy it even more after finding out it's a "bonus" and not an official promo single.

Ok I just had a nap and I woke up and I listened to the HQ one without the cuts and I already like it a lot lot more. I doubt I'm going to ever like it as much as her other promo singles but I do like the song. There are parts of the production that are good - I like the distorted child cheer sample that appears during the verses. Another problem is that the phrasing is off - she seems to be trying to fit too many syllables into each line which is leading to the impression that she is singing out of sync with the instrumentation.

Ok it's growing on me. Still not happy with that beat tho. Lyrics are overall good, with notable exceptions.

I find Anthony Fantano really fucking annoying, but I do feel that he is right in saying that instrumentation is so important for Lana's vision... BTD had the dichotomy between the hip-hop beats and samples with the rich instrumentation, Paradise had the ornate American production, UV had the white-hot rock vibe, HM had the atmospheric, lush, beautiful instrumentation. This... features such a trite 808 beat - it's awfully mixed - there's no atmosphere, no frisson, it legit sounds like one of those fanmade instrumentals.

"Critics can be so mean sometimes" between this and lust for life (which I adore), I can see the critics absolutely destroying her this era an hour ago I wanted the album out asap, now I'm fine with her pushing it back to sort it out
