Does anyone know what Coney Island Baby LLC is for? It's one of Lana's companies. Interestingly, it's registered at and owns a property on S Irving Blvd, LA, which seemed mighty familiar after I went on street view...

Why on earth do Metacritic still count the 405? Also, I'd be happy if NFR stays around 87 - Fear Inoculum spent a while at 88 but is now sitting at 83

If she cared enough about sales to be sad about a very strong week of 103K, she would have done almost everything in the roll-out differently - including the release date. PS. Obviously there are other factors at play - thinking of that one showbiz blogger who keeps repeating the dubious claim that Interscope delayed NFR for Billie Eilish to have her release.

"For me, the issue of discretion is just not an interesting concept… I’m more interested in, you know, "With Obama as the president, me and everybody I know, I think we felt very safe and protected" and "Baby you're so ghetto", what’s going to happen with our ill-thought out possibilities. Whenever people bring up not making rash statements, I’m like, god. I’m just not really that interested."

I am uncomfortable with journalists being hounded off Twitter for literally doing their job and expressing their opinion. Lana tweeted the critic publicly, knowing full well that she would get relentless abuse from stans. I also hate, hate the fact that she said that Powers wasn't a fan for having a different perspective on certain aspects of her art. For what it's worth, I actually thought Ann's review made valid points on the imagery of "Lana Del Rey" especially for her first albums. Sometimes I turn a blind eye whenever Lana does or says things that are a bit dodgy or naïve politically/socially, but it's hard to ignore if Lana's out here hounding people who dare to point it out.

I'm disappointed that Lana lashed out at Ann Powers about her NPR review - it was a fair review that was actually pretty positive, albeit one that I disagreed at points with. It reflects badly on her, especially considering that she's generally been getting great reviews from across the board and she's decided to come for one of the leading women in the male-dominated field of music criticism while ignoring the misogyny-tinged reviews by Neil McCormick and (to a lesser extent) Alexis Petridis.

I didn’t take issue with your post because of your opinion. I took issue because you seem to only contribute to this thread for the sole purpose of trying to shut down discussion or demean other users for having different interests than you.

and? if u aren’t interested in the critical evaluation nobody’s forcing you to read this thread

You're fab with these things so have probably already done it but I think the only option is contacting the writer Mikael Wood. Metacritic implies that they won't change their scoring decisions unless the writer contacts them.
-
If the publication is counted by Metacritic from their list for music (found here), Metacritic staff assign a score to each review (typically in increments of 10) unless the writer notifies them of their intended numerical score.
