I can't wait till the records come in. The tit copy is going RIGHT on my wall, and the non-tit copy is going right on the record player.
  2. Also, obligatory rage at these files/exports/re-encodes. (Not the WAVs tho, you stay classy - until folks decide to start converting them to 128k then back to WAV just to fuck with me)
  3. AMLD is totally fine to me? I think she sounds worse on this Downhill Lullaby....thing.... that is currently ASSAULTING my ears. What the hell is even this????????? (was she even sober singing this I-.....) (Also getting my tracks from whatever the search on that D-site turns up, since ain't nobody posting up in here)

Yeah. This is where the 'ethics' of it all comes back and drenches me with guilt. I love these artists. All I want to do is consume their material. If I can buy it, I will. If there's stuff that never left the cutting room floor, or there's some label exec who killed the song, I wanna hear that shit too. Gimme gimme. BUT! The fact that you could never be sharing out your sessions or song samples personally, and have a close production team you work with tightly, and your work STILL ends up online - it's like "Was I hacked? Or did someone on my team leak it behind my back? Who was on the music video set that I haven't seen before? Did they say something? Is it someone from the label? Is the janitor secretly popping flash drives into the computers when they come in to mop?" Tell that to stan culture. Those 0.1 differences on Pitchfork review scores. How many streams on Spotify? What's Metacritic got to say about it? Where is that album on the charts? The commodification and quantification and metricization of art is one of the nastier slimes capitalism could have ever unleashed, because now people utterly dismiss and toss out entire bodies of works just based on numbers and comparisons. It's wild, and these people - you've got these mega-forces in the industry like T-Swift, Gaga, Beyonce, Ariana, Ed, Bieber, The Jonas's - folks who are just selling out stadiums and names that have been everywhere for almost a decade+ at this point - these people look at new artists, or smaller artists, and just go "Oh? Who is she? Debut single didn't chart? Album not in the Top 200? Flop. Stream Midnights or w/e". It's so homogenized and ape-brained. For some people, it's just about being creative, making music, seeing what lands, and if their bills are paid, they're content - they're not out here trying to usurp some pop chart record holder, they're not trying to buy an $18 million mansion in the Bahamas off their first album; they're out here to literally have fun with their work, and make enough overhead to keep doing it.

Looks like demo. The second verse is a repeat of the first it seems.

Oh I love this. It's reminding me of 'Used to Know You' with that synth in the background. Crash era?

I'd like to manifest a Deluxe (for both Problematique and FTB) too, however, I'd also like to manifest some actual wait-time between album releases and deluxe releases. I've never understood releasing a regular and a deluxe so close to each other, if not same day. I thought the point and purpose for a deluxe was to pepper in some extra tracks, or maybe integrate some some post-album completion singles or features, to boost some sales, keep some momentum for the artist/era, help reach some target metrics, etc. etc. Doing it at the same time just makes me kind of go ".....well why would I even bother buying the standard then? I'll just get the deluxe." I'm so perplexed this wasn't included to start with. Truly.

I just fucking wish my hair would curl like that when it's long. Rollers. Flat irons. More AquaNet than the 80s could muster. Doesn't matter. Hair returns to pin straight.

It's the season of necromancy. Addison Rae had some shit get brought back to life. Kim got Problematique. XCX World when? I love to see it. Even if it's just a digital release only, or the labels find a way to spin it as a mixtape so it doesn't count towards contracted # of albums - release it. put it to print. get it out there. There's money to be made by from fans buying/streaming it. Piracy dropped when studios and labels made music and movies and TV shows more and more available on online platforms and made the ease of legal and official content accessibility widespread. Leak culture sort of piggybacks on this; when shit just plain isn't available, or it's gatekept behind 78 weeks of TikTok snippet promo, people are going to go elsewhere to get the content, and the artists and labels aren't going to get the dollars for the work. People *want* to consume and support their faves. Stop making it difficult labels, ffs.

*Ahem* OKAY SO NOW THAT THE ALBUM GOT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE, CAN THE PEOPLE WHO GOT THEIR HANDS ON THE LOSSLESS OG LEAKS EONS AGO QUIT HOARDING? I'd like to blend the official release with whatever the highest Q we have of the tracks that weren't dropped, and those mp3 reencodes aint it, thanks.

https://store.kimpetras.com/products/problematique-digital-album "Digital downloads are delivered as MP3 44.1kHz/24-bit audio files." If it's the closest thing I can officially get to an OG WAV, I'm content. Listening to this again though (admittedly I haven't touched in a moment) - it's so much more coherent that FTB lmao. This *should* have been the debut. There *should* have then been a deluxe or a repack, with some of FTB's better tracks instead, and a few of the remixes.

(<- This is the scene from the 10/10 movie with no notes, 'Bring It On', when the Toros and Clovers meet up and the ripoffery tomfoolery has been discovered.) Okay just listened. So I hated Speed Drive OG, shoot me. Absolutely love this remix. The opening is a bit chaotic for me, but once the kick hits @ 1:16 - giant slap in the face - this is absolutely in the 'uplifting trance' space. Anyone who's going "what is this prod???" that's the genre you need to be using as your point of reference. I stan.

Here for this energy solely because I enjoy chaos. Edit: Actually nah I like Sucker more than Charli and overall agree, BUT, Silver Cross is *that* bitch. Shh don't say that you'll summon my cracked out mother with her 8 sticks of burning sage and a mouthful of gaslighty, neggy, backhanded compliments.

Girl I look in the mirror and feel sorry for myself on the regular join the club. I'd also honestly love the bob if it wasn't sleek. If it was tousled and curled and messy and teased, I'd be here for it.

Edit: Which one did it? The bob? The Lana? The Melanie?
