RFK jr. was on The Dr. Oz show a few months ago. They believe thimerosal used in some flu shots (Adult tetanus boosters and one type of meningococcal vaccine for adolescents are the only others that contain thimerosal) is linked to autism. Thimerosal has a type of mercury with a harmless amount. Mostly used as a preservative and prevents microbial growth

It’s been slowly removed from vaccines as a precaution as medicine advances. The CDC has stated there is no evidence linked to autism. Dr. Oz even says in this video it was “implicated” and “possible” as a link, but ultimately “discredited” yet still goes around saying it’s harmful. 
 
 
Dr. Oz has been criticized for years sharing recommendations that are unsubstantiated. He’s famously suggested weight loss supplements that have no evidence and even tweeted astrology is a “valuable tool” for medical information. I personally find astrology interesting, but using it as legitimate tool for medical information advice especially coming from a doctor is extremely concerning

TLDR: anyways - mr. brain worm with no medical background as secretary of health and human services working with pseudoscientific TV show host dr. in charge of Medicare + Medicaid both known to spread misinformation is comical but extremely concerning.

At this point, aside from the senate actually needing to approve these people (which they’re already trying to bypass!!) we just need to hope the incompetence will grind everything to a hault (so the more extreme policy won’t pass as easily) while also not completely weakening our entire government (which seems to be the actual goal here)

I’m nervous to see what he does after the trial balloon that was his first term. It feels like the calm before the storm. He has total power now and will only have yes men around him this go around. That said, I’m already sick of democrats like senator Warren tweeting bullshit like “trump is already breaking the law😡!!”. Girl, shut up, get off twitter and do something about it? I’m not ready for the constant chaos and drama.

this election really opened my eyes on how cruel people actually are and how many trumpies there are (there’s WAY more than the last election and the one before that, it’s actually insane). X is infested with trump supporters who are OPENLY misogynistic, extremely racist, and very hateful toward every minority group. you guys, i have literally never seen a person post “your body, our choice” and have like 10k comments that agree with them until now… my jaw is on the floor. i also saw a trump supporter posting a video of a black woman screaming and crying over trump winning and they put monkey noises in the background  like what the actual fuck is going on? 
i’ve been saying this since before the election but we really really need to regress back a few centuries and start again because frankly this is absolutely insane

All of that protesting and screeching "Free Palestine" only to sign Palestine's death warrant by handing Trump the presidency, because he will flatten that country just like he promised. He has no sense or interest in the politics of it. It has nothing to do with even Isreal to him. He will nuke them just to make liberal college kids cry, especially in his narc rage. We don't even have Pence, who at least had some political sensibility and duty, to hold him back. He's got a showman at his side, who is likely more dangerous than Trump.
 
Palestine is over. Ukraine is over. All of those decades of progress we made here are over. If they can strip reproductive rights just two years ago with an election on the horizon and face 0 consequences, they will take away everything else. They've got at least four years to work and fill seats. Gay rights, single party divorce, interracial marriage - all of it on the chopping block, and codifying things doesn't mean shit to these people. Rules mean nothing to them because they will find a way around it for no other reason other than because they can. There are no limits. With the ever-growing rhetoric, the gay community, especially trans people, is in so much fucking danger. We're all in so much danger. That's not even considering the fact they want to dismantle the education department on top of a bunch of other shit. 
And for what? Nothing more than an arrogant, short-sighted moral superiority circle jerk to feel rebellious and superior, when in fact they've just fucked not only themselves over, but the people they supposedly cared so much about, as well the rest of the country and quite possibly the rest of the world if Russia decides to sink it's teeth into Poland next and trigger a NATO reaction, and with Trump in power, we will be on Russia's side. Biden wasn't great and Harris wasn't ideal either, but to think that they are remotely on the same level as the alternative is absolutely and completely asinine. That magical unicorn of a candidate is not going to materialize out of thin air - we are not going to have third-party options without years of hard work and determination. That is not reality. That is not how the world works. You take what you can and make due and keep your eyes on the future. Believing you can just demand something into existence is delusional, and throwing a tantrum only helps Republicans.
So, no. I don't want to hear about coming together to fight fascism, because that chance already happened and people chose not to because they are too fucking arrogant and stupid to see anything beyond their surprisingly limited perspective. Fascism was knocking at our door, and they let them in. 
 
This isn't arguing to some account online - this is the real world with real consequences and real people who want to do damage. This juvenile sense of Le Revolution is never going to happen, especially from the people who are constantly screeching about it, because they do not have the stamina and foresight to make happen when they can't even get their shit together for ONE ELECTION without making it about themselves. 
 
It is done. It is over, and once again everyone else will have to work harder and faster to clean up selfish, stupid people's messes. Although I am pissed at Conservatives, my true anger is with the brain-rot protestors. Conservatives were always going to do what they were going to do. We knew that, and all we had to do was show and stop it. But apparently, that is too much for some people.  Ironically, the only thing they likely accomplished was ending the Israel/Palestine conflict by giving Trump the opportunity to disintegrate Palestine.

If you're a woman who voted for Trump, don't complain when your husband beats you and there are no protections for you anymore. You chose that. 
 
If you're a gay person who voted Trump, don't be upset when you lose your job solely based on your sexual orientation because you CHOSE this. 
 
In the meantime, I might leave LB for a few weeks to better understand how to leave the US and quickly. I don't want to be here for a Trump presidency again.

In 2026 it'll be the 250th anniversary of the US...I can't believe democracy as we know it will likely be gone after 250 years
I really don't know what to with myself today...I clocked into work but I can't focus. I'm so worried about the future, for myself and others, but if they actually remove the ACA I'm so worried for my family members who have pre-existing conditions that may no longer be able to get Healthcare because of that...my dad needs insulin to live and if the prices go back to what they were, idk how we'll be able to afford it every month
