I mean, her personality has everything to do with her music... you can't separate the two. Also, when you say he tends to focus on her appearance, can you give me an example? I don't recall him ever doing it let alone tending to do it.

the way some of yall act when fantano gives lana a glowing review baffles me. he's allowed to have an opinion guys, and he's given heavy praise for both singles so far but you still have to whinge and complain every time his name is mentioned.

My head canon for A&W is that the first half is like the 'morning after' with a hangover, honestly reflecting on the mistakes she's made and the horrors she's endured, and then the second half is when the sun goes down and she's repeating the trauma-cycle by numbing the pain with substance abuse (hence the vocal effects fading out her voice when the 808 kicks in) as the upbeat electronic music drowns out her thoughts and replaces them with a dumb repetitive jingle. I have no basis for this, it just intuitive feels right and helps bind the two halves of the track into one cohesive work; there's the morning after comedown where the intrusive thoughts bleed in, and the numbing of these thoughts through sex/substance abuse and loud distracting music while she's in the club.

I'm soooo curious what this track will sound like. Are we thinking a kind of MAC pop rock ballad? Or something closer to ocean blvd (seeing as it transitions straight into that track afterwards.) Also can't imagine how the lyrics "the grants" would work in a song without it sounding cringe but I know my girl can do it. inb4 the grants is about all the grants she's received in her youth to help fund her music

This was exciting to read. I must've missed when BoZ commented on the interludes, all I heard was something about them (or at least one of them) being a 5 minute low quality phone recording of a pastor yelling while muffled giggles can be heard over the top. I mean this sounds cool for an interlude but... 4.5minutes worth??? That's longer than most pop songs. Didn't think there was any instrumentation on it but glad to hear I'm wrong

so far this album is among her best work and we've only got two songs, I'm lowkey nervous it's not going to be able to remain this level of quality for 16 tracks. (looking at you 5minute spoken word preacher "interludes")

I just hope The Grants is good because I can forgive a basic track here and there but the album opener needs to have impact. Like white dress literally saved COTCC.

The fake lyrics on spotify? It's like a completely different song. People seem to think this was an early demo/draft/other song that accidentally got submitted on her team's end.

I think the fact they were all created in the same block of time, in the same headspace, means that even if the genre switches up, the overall tone will be consistent.

Seeing people all over twitter talking about these fake lyrics and being like "were they leaked? wow, she really hates her mother" etc. apparently its on YouTube lyrics as well.

yeah it's still wrong, it's definitely 'after years'. aren't labels supposed to send lyrics when they send the track? even I put my own lyrics in when I upload my music to spotify etc. so I'm guessing it's her management...?

what do people think The Grants will sound like? Also something clicked about ocean blv recently for me; when she says "when's it gonna be my turn", she's not saying "when are people going to let me have my turn" like most seem to think, but rather "when am I going to be forgotten like the tunnel?" implying that it's only a matter of time. Sorry if this is really obvious for everyone else but yeah I moved.
