  1. and to add to this, I dont think any artist should have to apologise or back away from their religious or philosophical leanings. just because im an atheist doesn't mean I can't handle or dont celebrate lana including a sermon (assuming it's not subverted but just a literal copy-paste job) because I can scratch under the surface and tease out what she's getting at, and ask myself what purpose the religious element serves in her work more broadly. and its only through this kind of engagement that ive come to be more accepting of different people's faiths, which speaks to your point that art should challenge our beliefs - not always, not every time - but sometimes. then dont listen.
  2. its pretty unlikely that lana is literally putting a sermon from some preacher onto her album without some level of subversion, and to be honest even if she did, who cares. there's a difference between lana endorsing something and lana portraying something, and as a gay person who is staunchly atheist, im 100% here to listen to whatever lana wants to throw at me. art should be challenging. furthermore we can hear from the high quality snippet that just leaked and the full low quality tagged version that and it comes right after A&W where she talks about god being a charlatan and not needing to be loved anymore; I think it's safe to say there's a strong artistic statement being made here. but agree, we should wait to hear the full track before we pass judgement, im merely speaking to those who are constantly on here worrying that she's going to trigger them because she's including religious content in her album.
  3. ive decided this is true and have already mentally prepared for it so if its not true im going to be so disappointed and find a way to blame bozo
  4. people that have heard the album: do the words 'ring a bell' and 'psycho lifeguard' appear anywhere in the lyrics? I can't understand why she originally had this in the extended album title, unless there's more tracks that didn't make the cut with those titles (but also, that's quite convenient, right? that the other 3-4 tracks in the title all ended up on the cutting room floor?)
  5. yeah the fact its wedged between two disturbing/weird interludes is what makes it most promising to me. but then again you could listen to Arcadia and Black Bathing Suit and NEVER guess that the trio interlude is wedged between them, my point being that it doesn't necessarily have to flow and, judging by her last album, she doesn't care about flow all that much. (controversial I know)
  6. I really can't hear the guitars but have full faith in your superior hearing. Interestingly, the second photo accompanying that post is of a guitar.
  7. is the reason everyone is excited about candy necklace just because we haven't heard it yet? because based on what we actually have heard (the instagram snippet), it's just a piano ballad. which im cool with - but usually the piano ballads aren't the projected favourites. but maybe more has been said about it that im not aware of?
  8. yeah but the only reason people beg him for info is because he keeps reminding everyone that he HAS info and intentionally hyping everyone up. It’s not like he’s just someone in Lana’s camp that people won’t leave alone, he’s literally out here writing “omg Lana fans: BIG surprise announcement coming SOON” and then just doesn’t reply when everyone is like “well what is it?”
  9. Totally agree. I wish he just kept his mouth shut about it; now we’ve all built up excitement and expectation. I’ve said it before, Bozo’s “announcements” are almost always to the effect of “I know something you don’t know :)” like either tell us or stfu and let Lana’s announcement BE the announcement
  10. If bozo deactivated because he knows he overhyped a very minor surprise coming soon and is scared of the blowback, that’s such a cowardly move.
  11. never worked with him but she’s mentioned him a bunch of times over the years. Him and Lana are my two all time favourite artists, if this collab ever happened I’d literally die.
  12. Manifesting candy necklace / john batiste interlude double music video shot and directed by David lynch
  13. 1 more day till three-part music video, tour announcement, unreleased album dropping on streaming (with updated production by Jack), BBC interview where she goes in depth on each track, boob vinyl deluxe version with an extra five tracks including “psycho lifeguard” announcement, camcorder documentary announcement, new poetry book and removal of blue banisters from streaming/stricken from the record! So much happening, get your hopes up girls and gays x
  14. wasn't one of the insiders/people that have heard the album going to do a review here a couple days ago? Did that eventuate and if so, can someone link me lol? I need something to tide me over
  15. I'm so curious about candy necklace and the fact it's wedged between two interludes. I wonder if it will borrow instrumentation from either of the interludes? Seems kinda weird to have a modest piano ballad in between two chaotic instrumental tracks, especially considering they are (apparently) very psychedelic and weird.
  16. if blue banisters had music videos, and she stated in that recent interview that she didn't want to promote that album at all, then this album will definitely have at least one video. I think the most likely scenario is a double video for The Grants (because it's being released as a single) and Ocean Blvd (because its the title track and follows straight on from The Grants in the album listing so kinda makes sense she'd pair them, and it's the title track so kinda makes sense she'd use it.) My guess is it'll be Chuck directed and partially filmed in the tunnel.
