the one thing ive learnt from this pre release cycle is that it really pays to wait for the album release. I think this would have been an incredible experience to listen from beginning to end in one go, but I really ruined it with Rosemead exclusive baby's. I dont think id have the strength to not even listen to the singles but damn, imagine hearing Ocean Blvd, A&W, candy necklace, fingertips and peppers all in the same sitting.

Listening to Fingertips and (aside from the shock of ‘mother’ being censored) I just can’t handle the hiss that abruptly starts / stops before and after each line of vocals. Could they at least fade in and out the background hiss so it’s not so obvious!? And why is there crackle all over the track in my speakers? lana, I fucking love you, but you need to fire whoever is responsible for this stuff because they’re doing a terrible job

I've been listening to the album on repeat for several days now and have so much to say, but will save it for another day. One thing I'll quickly mention is that she seems to have wholeheartedly embraced imperfection as an artistic device, whether it's the occasional off-pitch vocal or off-beat rhythm, and I find this very intruiging. She echoed this sentiment when talking about the intro to The Grants - that the imperfection was symbolic and she knew it had to be left in to the beginning of the album. Furthermore in the age of AI art, imperfection is what will seperate Lana from the inevitable Lana song-generator-bot of the future. There's a fine line between highlighting the mistakes in an artwork so that it can take on more meaning, and just being lazy and not striving for excellence, and she is certainly in the former category.

I’m not gonna listen to candy necklace until release day so I still have something to look forward to, but can anyone tell me, is the whole track a piano track like the snippet she posted on Instagram? And how does it work being wedged between the two interludes (in terms of the genre/pacing/instrumental)

I think the issue here is that this album is soooo wordy and diaristic that songs like Fingertips and Kintsugi completely fall apart if you can't understand what she's saying, because most of the meaning is found in the words. Honestly sometimes I wonder if I just have bad hearing though because I watch reaction videos and half of them seem to understand everything she's saying while I'm hitting replay/searching this board for lyrics like a crazy person

if people have the willpower not to definitely dont because it'll sound soooo much better in high quality. I just listened to the grants on Apple Music and for the first time noticed so many subtle instruments/inflections in the back of my headphones. peppers sounds like it has the most complex production of any song on the album thus far so it needs to be heard in maxxxximum qual
