I can't with Beutiful. The lyrics sound like she's at her lowest point of inspiration. It sounds like she just wants to prove that she knows what Picasso's blue period is, and it sounds extremely cheesy. So cheesy that, if she had chosen Van Gogh to reference, I would have aborted the album right there. Beautifuuuuul liiiike you's melody is ear-splitting -- just like baby bluuue. Lately she's gone overboard with piano ballads so much that my uncle asked her if that's all she does.

Oh, gosh, when they complain about piano tracks, they mean piano-only ballads, not Cruel World. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate piano tracks (and when I say that, it's only piano). She has already created amazing ballads. When the track is just piano, it naturally creates that feeling that it's going to be very intimate and that we have to pay close attention to what it's going to say. Then out comes Hope, Old Money, and wow, amazing! However, lately we've had something just ok like Beautiful, so I think sometimes it misses out on that piano ballad aura and ends up overdoing it.

Yes! Oh, gosh, that's why my hype is huge for this album. They say there will be tracks with unusual verse-chorus constructions, strange elements... I couldn't ask for more. I imagine tracks with sudden changes in atmosphere and mood, like Text Book. Tracks that interrupt the sung melody for Lana to come out and say something. Knowing that there are several tracks with long minutes makes it obvious that we will have a lot of this. That's a long time for just some sappy verses and chorus. p.s: The bridge of living legend for me is one of the highlights of career. She needs to reproduce live.

I was so surprised by the news that I just followed and didn't say anything. But, guys, something I've always loved about Lana's songs is some of the "weird details" she puts into each one, like: - The guy screaming on several BTD tracks; - The autotune popping at the end of Tulsa Jesus Freak; - The synth humming at the end of Fuck it I Love You; - The Gunshots in God Bless America. Besides being interesting, it gives a lot of substance to the songs, making them unique. And, like: now we're going to have a pastor reciting a sermon, while she laughs? We won!

Lust For Life - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
terrenceszyou replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
What intrigues me most about the release of Lust For Life is that, when you look back, the album seems so accurate to the time period it was released. I can't explain it, but the album captures the atmosphere of 2017/2018 a lot. Years later we faced a pandemic and witnessed wars, which makes that time still seem OK in comparison. But there was something in the air - oh, gosh - that made me feel uneasy about the world, and suddenly, all of Lana's positive words made sense to me and were necessary - when, previously, it had felt like hype and hysteria. At the same time, there were so many fun tracks to entertain us. I don't know, but it seemed like she knew a sad album wasn't appropriate at that time. Lust for life is a gem. And it was really fucking hot. -
She's not a Dragon... But definitely a Whore

From White Mustang I noticed. It ends extremely quickly. That's why I don't like so much. When the snippet came out, I thought the melody was beautiful but in the end the song only has a melody for the verses, a repeated chorus and beats at the end. On the album, it just sounds like a smooth opening to the hip-hop tracks that follow.
