this one and violets for roses are like.. their existence bothers me but i don't hate them... it's not that they are bad but they are just... irrelevant? useless? inconsequential...

i prefer this one to violets btw... but they are the laughing stock bottom of the barrel of her discography... cute ig!

    This!!!

I don't hate them, they're not bad but I can live without listening to them.

I do have to admit that the last time I listened to these two songs was in October 2021.

I never felt any connection to them.

after dream i had today i'm manifesting 90s electronic/alt-rock/pop rock/trip hop/hip-hop/electronic rock record. kind of Gorillaz and Radiohead vibes. in this dream Lana exclusively played new song at concert having vibe of late 90s kinda upbeat mix of alt-rock, electronica with hip hop feeling. after performance OB deluxe version appeared with 4 new songs (Zodiac, SYTH, song from concert and fourth new track). song instantly became fans and critics favourite and started petitions and demand to LDR10 should have sound like that. no wonder. it sounded amazing, production was literally god tier and it was catchy as hell.

This!! I'd like to see some Gorillaz, Radiohead, Portishead, PJ Harvey, all the 90s alt vibes! :flutter:

I've heard it was for Spring Breakers, which makes sense considering Harmony Korine co-wrote the song

i googled the movie and found out it's from 2012/2013, so maybe the song is from 2012? :illumarina: but Auerbach has also credits and he met Lana in late 2013/early 2014, so idk

Apparently, Paramore is leading the race by more than 400K votes … I didn’t know they got that many fans. They’re going hard as hell, some of them saying they voted over 10K times on X and all … Lana might not win her first VMA after all :(

We need to vote as many times as we can in the following days if we want to still have a chance. Voting period is almost over

What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck FUCKKKK!?!?!??!?!

  6. Live shows are the best proof honestly (well not always, she sometines forgets lyrics) because we can sometimes hear her pronunciation with the mic a bit better (also live shows helped to prove the ribbons in knots lyrics in MTWBT)

the preceding line is "you snort it like a champ", and she continues by finishing it with saying that the guy lets the winter/winner inside of him by snorting the coke. someone snorting drugs like the winter they are not in has no meaning. if we were to put aside the winter/winner discussion, she sings LET and nothing close to like/love or anything like that.

but look we all have our takes and interpretations, if you listened to the link i shared or any of the live performances she did for this song and still believe she says "like the winter we're not in" then there's nothing i can do to change your mind. people hear and believe what they wanna hear and believe. just look at the mtwbt lyric thread... i choose to trust what evidence, such as vocal stems and live performances tell me, not what it sounds like on the studio version and the lack of winter climate in Florida :nails: xoxo

We need more essays like this, honestly. This was well explained.

it's one of these, it's hard to know for sure if she says the T silently on purpose in winter or if she is just saying winner but both of these make sense with the song unlike the nonsensical lyric that's being pushed which makes no sense in context (like the winter we're not in). but this time i really don't have the patience to teach context and structure of lyrics to annoying and rude af people on the internet who write paragraphs trying to discredit and attack others because of their own personal projections, lack of knowledge (Apple Music is not official for Lana, some artists submit their lyrics to Apple Music but not her so they pull whatever lyrics they can find from Genius/online) and whatever mental health issues they got going on underneath all that craziness that i want nothing to do with.

oh and also having the stems is a big help! but what do i know? no amount of evidence or common sense can help people who can't accept that they are wrong and need a check-up with their ears...

    Ty for explaining!

  9. Idc what the real lyrics are for me it's always "like the winter we're not in", although I did listen to the instrumental w backing vocals and it does sound like "let the winter winter in" or "let the winner winner in" or "let the winter winner in". Idk, idc really. :creep:

  10. Remember when in Summer 2018 she randomly deactivated her Instagram and used only Twitter and when she had a feud with a fan there because she wanted to defend Katy Perry or something :creep: and when she revealed that her stage name is just Marina now :creep: and she also had that MarinaBooks blog project (I actually really liked this!)

Yeah...definitely a chaos to remember :creep:

  11. NFR is 4! It's insane how time flies!

I'll never forget that experience when I listened to NFR for the first time. I remember waiting for it for a long long long time and the waiting was worth it. I remember two days before the release I was in a beach forest looking for butterflies to film them so I could made a Happiness Is A Butterfly music video :creep: I didn't find any, it was a really hot day but it was worth it because I had a good day spending time there, the only thing I kept daydreaming of was NFR album. When the album was released it was life changing, it left me in total shock after listening to Cinnamon Girl, Love Song and Happiness Is A Butterfly, also California and Bartender. I remember almost starting to cry in the backseat of the car when she posted the NFR music video in Instagram TV (when it existed lol) at 00:30 :defeated: that night I went to the port to get that seaside experience for the album, there were so many people out partying, the night was so warm, the sky was so dark and I could see so many big shiny stars - it was a perfect experience for that album, it truly felt like a once in a lifetime experience.

Months before the album release, I had a difficult time in my life and I was so anxious then on what was coming next, NFR somehow made it easier. I found the "spark" in my life again.

Hands down, my best post-release era was NFR's post-release era. It was so magical and nostalgic watching and reading those interviews she did and all of those music videos. And the critical acclaim, nothing made me happier than Lana being on top of the world after the long misunderstanding and hate. She actually got recognized for her work and impact. I actually felt that us, fans, were on top of the world with her too.

NFR has one of her most important songs - I still consider Hope Is A Dangerous Thing as her best song. It has lyrically and melodically many magic moments. The orchestral outro in Cinnamon Girl, oh what would I do to hear this for the first time again! As we know already, it's definitely one of her best albums. NFR is definitely her most universal album.

Happy 4th Birthday, dear Norman Fucking Rockwell, our Normie!

    :ahh:

Anybody know if she gave up on the poetry collection? Any news on MD6? What does this woman even do these days anymore besides post herself making out with her girlfriend on Instagram?

She was recently diagnosed with CFS so she's taking her time for treatment
