one of her most underrated songs/collabs. I was listening to it on a gorgeous winter walk, and it was just magical, felt like I was in a Disney movie. Lana has to release a Christmas album someday, I'm begging her

need one song where she mentions alligators and airboats. This era wouldn’t feel complete without it

Her some of her song titles in her albums are:
• one word adjectives or random things/people (Sweet, Beautiful, Bartender, Dealer, Thunder, Change, Fishtail, Freak), she has a lot them
• references to a (famous or a close) person (Margaret, NFR, Sweet Caroline, Terrence Loves You)
• references to a famous song or a book or a movie (Sweet Caroline, Paris Texas, Lolita, Body Electric)
• sentence from a chorus (Grandfather..., Did You Know..., Hope..., When The World..., Let Me Love...)
• names of location/places (Yosemite, California, Venice Bitch, Mariners Apartment Complex, Arcadia)
• weird but cute word combinations (Tulsa Jesus Freak, Wildflower Wildfire, Summer Bummer, Coachella Woodstock In My Mind)
• clothing items, accessories (Black Bathing Suit, White Dress, Candy Necklace)
• Food, mostly drinks (Taco Truck, Cola, Cherry, A&W - a rootbeer brand, Diet Mountain Dew)
I mean, we can expect at least one from each category for The Right Person Will Stay
Also, appreciation post for Dark But Just A Game, I fucking love this title, I claimed this from day one!!!

Seems there is a new insider on ATRL who knows info about other artists and he said that Lana's album is not mastered yet. This contradicts a previous claim from another insider, but would explain why we have to wait at least 6 months.
He also said he'll share more about the album when the preorder comes out.

Can someone please explain what the “has anyone else does for you?” Thing and how it’s related to snl because all I’m seeing is a religious reference but how is that Lana

So, strange parallel, but. I’ve been thinking how cool it kinda is, that I’m connecting this but.
they used to have me sing as a front person in church. And I was kinda raised on hymns etc.
but I just really love how Lana incorporates her religious background w her stuff from before, imagery lyrics and even sing styling infused. It kinda humanizes the experience for me strangely enough and I just really love and get inspired by that. Cus, being gay, and coming from that kind of background, it kinda feels like I’m not as alone when it comes to the realm of singing, and that I can reconcile both halves, when I just can’t relate to family’s pov’s sometimes.
I’ve come to make my own kind of spiritual perspective that I like to think might be broader than the typical outlook. Cus maybe if the God of the bible can overlook those and forgive them in it, maybe the runt part of my soul might just be ok w that kind of level. Obviously the whole gay thing and the world of it but.
Something I think about when I reconcile both halves in me or parts of me rather.
Some songs just feel like home when I feel a bit too ostracized ir just can’t relate, despite wanting more of the traditional. It’s a nice portal to stay in sometimes.

I never been the biggest fan of Chemtrails besides the title track and Yosemite. But now that it's getting colder, and the leaves are falling, and skies are brighter...I'm falling in love with Chemtrails. It's the perfect album for a walk tbh

Tomorrow is 11 years since I heard Lana for the first time, and I think I only just realised today what 'I Fucked My Way Up To The Top' is actually trying to say, which shows how slow I can be sometimes. I may have to get out the old wordpad app and write an essay on it ...

Could Past, Present, Future be a cover of the song made famous by the the Shangri-Las and brilliantly covered by Marianne Faithfull about 15 years ago?
We know Lana is a fan of the Shangri-Las.
The Past, well now let me tell you about the past
The past is filled with silent joys and broken toys,
laughing girls and teasing boys,
Was I ever in love? I called it love- I mean, it felt like love,
There were moments when, well, there were moments when
The Present, Go out with you? Why not
Do I like to dance? Of course,
Take a walk along the beach tonight? I'd love to,
But don't try to touch me, don't try to touch me
'Because that will never happen again,
Shall we dance?
The Future, Tomorrow? well tomorrow's a long way off
Maybe someday I'll have somebody's hand
Maybe somewhere someone will understand
You know I used to sing- a tisket a tasket a green and yellow basket
I'm all packed up and I'm on my way and I'm gonna fall in love,
But at the moment it doesn't look good
At the moment it will never happen again
I don't think it will ever happen again.

Some people are just sensitive--it may be in your DNA, or some might attribute it to astrology, Myers-Briggs, or something along those lines-- there are people who are extremely emotionally sensitive, and there are people who are intuitively or physically sensitive. Some are all. I am intuitively sensitive but not emotionally sensitive. As we know, some people are insensitive--not sensitive at all.
The only Lana song that has made me cry--multiple times--is Old Money. The Greatest has come close to making me cry--how can a brilliant song about the end of the world not? And Swan Song too.
But if you've been a member here a while, then you've seen how many members have reported crying to Lana songs, especially on first hearing. I recall a member saying they were crying so hard they had to pull their car off the road on their first listen to Fingertips. I recall a member saying that the title song of Blue Banisters made them cry.
Crying is good. It's good to have a release, to get it out. For me, that's one of the uses of music and art--to counter our natural repression response to hurt and life's many other unpleasantnesses.
I don't know what to expect from TRPWS at all--musically, thematically, or lyrically, as Lana has said so many varied things about it and we know it's been reconceived, and maybe more than once a la Lust for Life--but that also makes it more exciting. For me, almost every one of Lana's albums has had a Lana Classic on it, one or more. Will TRPWS make us cry? Maybe.
