I really like it minus the weird "yah" through out. It throws me every time and kind of takes me out. She's so good!

I really like her too. I got into her when Tove Lo liked her on soundcloud back in the beginning of July or something. She tweeted about her and they exchanged tweets.

Seems like she's working with The Knocks, but I'm not really that familiar with them.

Kiiara is very new and has gained a lot of recognition for the few songs she's posted on soundcloud. I stumbled upon her just a few weeks ago and I'm already stanning.

I can't wait to see what she does next.

They did a really great interview this morning. They talked about their decision to donate part of their concert proceeds to the organization Third Wave Fund. I really loved and respected Max's comments about how he realized that his experiences with being gay and how it was received came because he's a privileged white male.

There's too much to quote so... whateva. I'd recommend the Truth Serum EP. It's stronger lyrically than Queen of the Clouds. She got a little repetitive with lyrics on the LP and with Scream My Name. On the other hand, she wrote and produced Scream My Name which makes me hopeful that she'll have a stronger hand at producing on her next album. I'd like to hear more of her own sound, rather than say Ilya's or Ali's.
She's doing festivals in the US and Europe and she's got a headlining small North Amer. tour this fall, but it's still smaller venues. Her tour dates are all in the northern top of the US plus California and lower Canada. So she's left out a huge chuck of the US and of course Mexico. Basically a lot of the places she's already toured will get to see her yet again.

You've pin-pointed why it feels really flat. It's so noticable. If you're singing a song called Leave Me Alone and there's the lyrics "please just leave me alone" and there's no emotion there and it's like you're just talking about the weather there's something wrong.
I'm guessing it's because they built the songs around their vision of how it would be performed live, but it does make some of the album a little flat in that area too. The live performance video of Painted imo worked better than just hearing it. Overall Wrong Victory is still my favorite. Others just blended in together on the 1st listen, probably because all the things mentioned. I'm totally disappointed.

Nothing about this new album has jumped out at me yet. Painted was alright, and then the rest of the tracks are just kind of... eh. Secondhand Rapture took some time to grow on me, then kind of lost its edge after multiple listens, so idk. Lizzy's voice only has one "mode"/inflection, which has gotten under my skin - she can't adjust her voice correctly for different moods.

"I think we got much better about developing skills we didn't have on the first record, like 'Okay, we want to write a dance song right now that's still rooted in the MS MR aesthetic,'" the group's Max Hershenow told Billboard about the album last month.
The as-yet-untitled new album will also include the first co-writes of the band's young careers, and with some pretty huge names. The duo linked up with Tove Lo and MNDR for the new album, which will be presented at upcoming summer festivals like Lollapalooza and Osheaga.

I think Too Far is great. I wish it was more than just a demo draft without verses.

OK, that is the worse song I've heard from her. LOL I'll have to finish listening to it sometime later, right now I'm laughing too hard.
I'm not sure I should thank you for posting that

So it was the usual, mid-aged American housewives who probably aren't getting any over-reacting. Typical. I should have known better, especially since they aren't her audience anyway.
Although, they're probably the same women who flocked to "50 Shades." Hypocrites.
