I feel like major labels are still figuring out how how to traverse the music industry now that traditional forms of promotion don't really work that well anymore. They also aren't bringing in as much money now that streaming is in play. I think Atlantic is hesitant to spend money on promo for Charli (or a lot of artists who arent big cash cows for them) because even it it gets them a moderate hit that it may not make back that money they put into promotion. Just a thought tho

Charli is difficult to "break" because she doesnt have a gimmick surrounding her. Image is huge in music now. No one would have cared about Post Malone if he didn't look like a redneck trying to look like a rapper who acts like a fratboy. All of these soundcloud rappers that seem to be popping out of nowhere rely heavily on their image. Charli is just authentically herself and making the music that she likes, and thats really hard to break in the age of instagram clout.

I disagree. If it is the second single, I think it would do fairly well if promoted properly and if 1999 doesn’t take on a life of it’s own like Boom Clap did.

CTMP will do well if its promoted properly. GNO was never going to be a hit, and everyone who said that had no idea what they were talking about. GNO was too SOPHIE and too campy to ever become a hit, whereas CTMP doesnt have either of those barriers.

It was mostly Focus I was talking about. Most people on here were actually upset when 5ITM debut because it wasn’t PC Music produced.

Whoever runs that account is so annoying. They throw a fit about the leaks and her fans all the time but they we're an integral part of spreading the news that the album leaked..............

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. That b*tch better not tour until the album drops. I don’t want the Sucker era 2.0 where shes sick of all the songs by the time the album drops. I also dont want her debuting any new songs until they’re either released or about to be because I dont want a repeat of the exchange songs or 5ITM/Focus where you all freak out and never shut up about live songs instead of buying/streaming the songs she does have out.

My problem with Art Angels is that it sounded like an album full of songs that sounded loke Grimes trying to make a (insert artist here) song. Like California just sounded like Grimes trying to make a Dolly Parton song, Flesh Without Blood sounded like Grimes trying to make a Paramore song. It just didnt do it for me. I feel like all her recent work is just her trying to make someone else’s songs
