Love this. Yes, I really never understood the hate for her opening her world up to us. She is human, she has grown and evolved. Her artistry is more open and honest now than it used to be. It only made/makes sense she includes those around her in it. Idk, I always loved the insight it gives/gave. Plus we all have people in our own lives that we can still relate the stories/situations back to.

Preemptive ranking (that nobody asked for lol), will change with time. Will revisit for post release thread. I know some of my ranks are going to be unpopular but we all connect with different tracks/vibes. That said all the tracks on this album are amazing. Think this may end up being my fave album. Artistically she is on another level. Lyricism, production, mood-all of it. It is her most ambitious project to date, and she DELIVERS.

I've already listed to some of OB today but I am going to try and abstain from it until official release lol. The struggle!

It may just because I've had it on repeat but I would love/would have loved LTLI as a single.

From the little I picked up on it seems like it didn't sale as much as was anticipated in its first week. So I think it may be less of a concern than what was once thought. That said could still generate enough to block Lana maybe. Morgan will definitely be the one to block #1 though from the little bit I have seen about his sales, he is doing massive #'s even if they are less than what was originally projected. Good deal, always seemed like maybe they do well here. Hopefully we can snag #2 then lol!

I knew Miley's debut was less than what was expected. Ugh Morgan, mess lol. I really don't follow or listen to Kpop but I know their fanbases can be crazy lol. I thought maybe there was a solo album coming out from a member of a main group or something.

Yes exactly lol! LFL and Honeymoon will always hold a special place in my heart. Gives me those good feels. Glad we made it through the COCC/BB trenches. I think we are in store for a refreshing release here. While she may not be promoting like she used to it definitely is still something very special. The energy has shifted and again you can feel the anticipation. I almost wish it would have been a summer release though. It just has that vibe to me lol.

Who's her main competition for release? Morgan, Miley... Isn't there a Kpop band and or singers releasing too?

Yeah, saw you post the #'s. I just knew NFR wasn't #1. There was something in the air in 2017 though, even if less sales the energy from the release was palpable. Maybe that was just because I was on vacation when LFL came out but we had a lot more interviews mag shoots, etc etc lol. NFR release was very good too. It is always interesting how looking back you correlate album releases with different life events/times of your life. That is a side note not specific to the topic at hand though lol.

#2 would be amazing, very interested to see what the actual sales equate to.

NFR was a grower, sleeper hit in a way. It came in at #2 or #3 I think. LFL had everybody hyped and ready, all the magazines and publicity... awww good times lol.

I've ordered all the vinyl variants with exception of the picture disc and none have shipped. Oh well lol, for some reason they always ship out later for me it seems. Both my Target and Amazons are now saying 3/28-3/30. Lana's store always takes a bit and the indie one has no update at all. Fingers crossed it just pops up one day... before the 24th lol.

Ready for them to start posting, not expecting any till at least mid week though.

Say this every album but I really want a behind the scenes process/breakdown lol. Like in what order were the songs recorded. How did they evolve and change. the fact that Lana is always working makes it all that much more interesting. hopefully one day we got our documentary lol.

Sorry if it came off strong. Wasn’t the intent. Just conversing and sharing my personal thoughts on the Taylor/Lana comparisons that always happen. That last part wasn’t directed to you personally. I can definitely hear the similarities in the track Margaret though. They all kind of play off of one another and inspire each other so makes sense. Especially with jack being such a prolific collaborator with the two of them lol.

For me Margaret is the only comparable track. I know some have mentioned Fishtail sounding like it is off of midnights but I do not hear that myself. Folklore/Evermore and Did You Know are apples and oranges sound wise to me. Maybe they can be compared in the sense that they are an evolution of each artists sound but Did You Know differs in regard that it blends many different genres sounds and stylings while Evermore to me seems more tightly constructed.

No surprises as it more easily accessible. No shade either, NFR is one of her top albums for me. Yes, def don’t see this getting the NFR level praise. It’s definitely going to be more divisive lol. If you get it you get it. Feel sorry for those who don’t, critics included.
