love this post. i feel like lana would kinda hate having a top 40 single. she thinks most "pop" music today is mass produced and shitty. so true about Leonard and the beatles - their popularity prevented them from actually preforming audibly. it's really sad when you read interviews about it. they were miserable toward the end of their touring period. also lana doesn't seem to like touring or doing festivals. she seems like a private and thoughtful person, not someone who can give and give to an audience 3x a week. her songs take a lot out of her. (some of them anyway...)

do y'all think her festival shows (all in august) are gonna coincide with the album release??? i don't think i can wait till August for the album

i'd love the album to sound like a mix of JFK and Jump - lyrical and sentimental, paying tribute to the figures she loves, but also adding a modern edge to it. i'm interested to see how heavy the beats are, too. remember when she described honeymoon as having "muddy trap" beats? honestly aside from hbtb and art deco i heard little to no trap influence... even hbtb's beat was too pop-ish to be called trap. but she listens to a lot of asap and rae sremmurd, so i'm sure beats are swimming around in her head a lot. i kinda hope we get some heavy ones this time around.

i feel like Lana has no problem with her sales/her declining 'fame'. In fact, I think she's given up on maintaining her fame because she hated it and doesn't want to live like that. Her lifestyle is much more chill now, and she's always said it was the music that kept her going, not the number of albums sold. do y'all really think she cares?
