She did what she had to do with cooties. Even though I don't even know what the word means.

It's just a childish term for "germs"

In the context of the song, it's about wanting to touch and love someone you have a crush on, aka spreading your cooties, or germs.

Often children will say things like "Ew, you have cooties" in reference to (example) a kid having a crush on a girl, the boy would have cooties and the girl would find the boy gross.

  2. Everything Happens for a Reason is the best song on the album, but besides that I really love Homesick and Stay Numb and Carry on (besides the singles)... i just knew this going to be a serve

Surprised no one has made a "final" edit using the snippet. Perhaps it would be a difficult task. Nonetheless this slaps

I actually attempted to! But it's hard to find the Emile Haynie samples used throughout that. I actually was not able to track down exactly what is being used. I did do a random Emile Haynie version with the the "Sure" Blue Jeans Sample and Crowd OTTR sample, but it didn't sound very great! Maybe I'll re-do that and just upload it here. It wouldn't sound like the final though :crai:

  4. Hiiii I really loved the final version, but I felt like it was missing the "oomph" of the demo! So I just brought the drums back!

Sorry they don't sound that great, I had to extract them from the demo and it was a long process of editing, cutting/pasting and trying to make it sound ok. I am also in no way musically inclined, so they might sound... off?

Why are you this emotionally invested? She's not the first creative to bullshit the public & won't be the last. Most singers sell a facade of being more involved than they really are. Britney Spears called Britney Jean her most "personal" album & she didn't even sing on half the damn songs. Who cares? It's music, she's not taking credit for the covid vaccine. She's not selling plant based meals that secretly have meat in them. How writing credits affect you to the point that you're driven to run a smear campaign in defence of Nasty Cherry & Halsey is weird & legitimately laughable. All of these people have blessed lives. If Sky's taking public pot shots for no reason, it's free entertainment. Playing morality police when it comes to pop singers is freakish. This shouldn't impact anybody so deeply. If she's such a fraud, stop posting about her?

It's hardly a smear campaign. Are you sky herself???

The problem that he has said over and over is that she tries to gatekeep her 'own' style when she wasn't even the one to create that style.

  6. I think it's because, like us all, Lana's taste and the look she wanted to go for had changed. As the previous comment said, I think she was trying to do 60s-70s folk as well. With the native american, country inspired dresses and boots, she was really in touch with writing Chemtrails I'm sure. But I do hope she goes back to a more 60s general look rather than folk.

EDIT: also i loved the looks for that tour, but she made some... bold choices. Cowboy boots with a turquoise lined dress,,, ok then.

Y'all what's the deal with people being so obsessed with instrumental leaks to the point fans will filter their own? I just don't get it.

Instrumentals of a song are just as important to me as the actual song. When an instrumental leaks, you can hear new things you'd never heard before and it's really nice to get a feel for the production of the song. I am not that into instrumental filters though, as they will usually remove elements of the actual production / distort them. And I also know people use instrumentals to make mashups, edits, etc, but for me personally, its an appreciative thing.

She said it here on her Instagram story https://dbree.org/v/95fac2

She also said it on her recent IG post that she's writing both a film and album in Hawaii: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLKvQwPjpHH/

    And here: https://hollywoodlife.com/2020/12/16/melanie-martinez-streaming-concert-k-12-performance-new-album-film-interview/

Oooh, idk why my mind just skipped over the film bit when i first saw that post. Well that saddens me. Expect the unexpected between now and the new film/album btw... :magikarp:

She said the third album will have a film with it and so will the one after this. She only said After School will not have a film.

Hm. Are you sure? do you mind showing me where. I trust you, but I really thought she had said she wouldn't have a film for this project and instead the next. It made sense since I am sure Atlantic wouldn't want to fund another movie so soon after she lost them money with K-12.

  10. Never ever believe "prediction" accounts. That's the dumbest thing anyone can do.

On that note, Melanie already confirmed this album will not have a film with it. The next film she wants to do is for the album after this one.
