Hayden isn’t making music to cater to a specific audience. She had an idea for a body of work that’d be in a completely different genre, some of its parts less accessible or formally challenging, because she’s an artist. 
 

If it’s your first encounter with this kind of music, that’s alright. If you gave it a listen and it didn’t resonate, that’s fine too

You’re calling people stupid while it’s you who was exposed to valid arguments and still dismissed the album as pointless. You’ve got the right to feel this way, but your way of expressing this doesn’t make you look smart, quite the opposite, actually.

every artist's music caters to a specific audience whether that's their intention or not.. i'm also not sure that the notion that boring and monotonous extreme drilling noises can be passed off as "challenging"/"less accessible" is really clicking for me as it insinuates that if someone doesn't like it it's because of them and their lack of sophistication/comprehension and not the music itself, and that's just NOT the case with this particular record

This is not what I said??? Music that’s not bizarre (which is such an arbitrary and subjective way of describing it) can be called art just like any avant garde or niche release.

Idk to me implying the songs are devoid of discernible intention and meaning!! sounds like calling it pointless. Oh and since you had to point out my punctuation use, sorry, not everybody masters it in a second language. Remember you were the one who started insulting people first

i didn't do anything of the sort. i just gave a few examples of ethel cain songs that i enjoy and provided a few reasons for why i like them (such as discernible intention and meaning). obviously the songs i listed do happen to have more structural integrity and a theme that carries itself through the song than the songs on her most recent record (this is a fact) but in no way was i implying her album is meaningless lol

Guys idk what's going on rn but I listened to Perverts last night and OMG it was so amazing... a very unique project that made me feel very uncomfortable at the start but as the EP progressed I felt strangely comfortable. Although I've got to admit I LOVE Preacher's Daughter, I really enjoy this new experimentation and her playing around with different sounds, it's so cool and highly creative!
