details Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 i'm glad lana acknowledged the "world building" aspect of her past eras and gave us a little hope for a return to that style since it was what really made me (and i'm sure a lot of you too!) a fan of hers in the first place. however, i can't help but notice her saying "maybe i can have fun [creating a world] again"… why can't she have fun now? does she just not wanna have fun? or does she feel the need to not have fun in her work anymore to please a certain audience/the critics? 4

When I did Norman Fucking Rockwell! it was about world-building, whereas this was straight vibing." Many of you said that with NFR! she was trying to please the critics, but it was just the same "world-building" as with Born To Die and other albums. She's not trying to limit herself, she's enjoying the whole process and trying out a new style of songwriting. That's all. 14
