Not A&W having a radio version :flop:

Im sorry but this made me literally laugh out loud. It’s so butchered.

It’s not about having someone to love me anymore

This is the experience of being an American whore

Though I can see how the last three tracks sound like bonus tracks and it can make perfect sense to end the album at Margaret, I think the album is perfect as is. The last three tracks add a lot of dynamism to the album. I think it would’ve been too heavy of an album without them even though Margaret is a cute happy ending. Also, having the last three songs feels like the album more strongly ties into A&W which seems like the defining song on the album. The album before Margaret feels like the first half of A&W while the last three tracks feel like the second half. I wouldn’t like the album as much without the last three tracks.

i agree 100%. It just adds more dynamic to the album. It's 3 more or less upbeat tracks on an otherwise super slow-paced record

it's astonishing how they managed to turn a 7 minute song into something that barely reaches 2 minutes. fascinatingly destructive

Has anyone noticed that the melody she sings in the Jon Batiste Interlude around 1:05 is similar to Cinnamon girl’s chorus?

I'll do it for the right reasons

What are the sides though? Because to me, there are five distinct sections that all have their own personality:

  1. The Grants / Did you know / Sweet
  2. A&W / Judah Smith / Candy Necklace / Jon Batiste
  3. Kinsugi / Fingertips / Paris, Texas
  4. Grandfather / Let the Light In / Margaret
  5. Fishtail / Peppers / Taco Truck x VB

ooh i can't rank the proper sides but i can rank these !!

3 > 2 > 1> 5 = 4

question for the gays about a lryic because I'm finally reading the official ones and theyre hitting me

  • In one year, we've learned the turn of the mouth
The depth that the chest cavity takes
Chucky was there for three out of three
I was there for the third 'cause I couldn't be
There for the one who was closest to me

is she talking about missing funerals here? :cryney:

Get high

drop acid

never die

not tonight

LAKE PLACID

Sounds like something a rock star would scream at Glastonbury and I just imagine her screaming this at the two people that live in Lake Placid :thumb3:

regarding kintsugi + fingertips and death, some personal shit that i only told my therapist about

Spoiler

it's so painful to think you may have failed the most important person in your life... i remember feeling so betrayed when my mom chose to not tell me about my grandma's passing (after a few long agonizing months bedridden with cancer) and i found out through a mistakenly sent text message... i remember that moment in my life so clearly, the world stopped when i realized that the person that i loved the most was no longer here.

i already knew it was happening but i was at a friend's house for a group project... i sat there on the floor and completely dissociated from the rest, just took it all in...my dad picked me up and didn't say anything bc she asked him not to (she wanted to tell me herself) and i pretended i didn't know... till this day i don't understand why i didn't say anything then, i just couldn't get the words out of my mouth; she didn't allow me to go to the funeral either, she said it was too much for a young, sensitive person like me to take... i didn't get to say goodbye and it hurt so much, i still feel like i abandoned her, she was the one who raised me, my real mom so i understand lana so much.

Ocean Blvd: #1 UK and Aus

Watch America fail Lana. It’s ironic an American album with an American title is not #1 in America. Somehow, it’s also very American to me at the same time 😂

Lana really deserves a number 1 album in the states.
