I used to find Remy Bond quite disingenuous because of how much she copies (not just from Lana) but I’m over it now. Sometimes u just gotta stop caring about stupid shit and enjoy the music for what it is. She has a stunning voice! I can’t wait to see how she progresses in her music. She’s come a long way since benzo queen, thankfully.

ultrablvd 49,982 Posted February 10 i mean she is a blatant copy and paste of lana but thats a compliment to lana that people want to copy her i like her music. it does make me laugh at points due to how much of a caricature of lanas music she is, but she has fun songs and i sing along when they come on 2 Quote resident sweeter 24/7/17 - 9/7/23 - 10/7/

I also feel like it’s just a way to become more popular because she’s definitely feeding into a certain trend as well. But I do love star shaped baby a lot, more so the composition/instrumentation than her lyrics. I’m gonna give her more time to find her sound and refine it, I think she has a lot of potential. Whereas with Holly Macve, her music falls flat on me now. Ever since she’s marketed her music towards Lana’s fanbase. That album Golden Eagle has some really good songs and writing in it. Now her songs are all about driving with her baby in a Mercedes Benz in San Francisco. It just seems out of sync with all of her other music. You can really tell when an artist wants to get big in America lol.
BenzoKing 0 Posted February 12 Remy Bond is poised to take the spotlight and potentially replace Lana Del Rey in the music world. While Lana’s influence on indie pop and melancholic music was groundbreaking in her prime, her brand is starting to feel stagnant, especially as she ages. The ‘young and beautiful’ persona she once embodied is now harder to maintain, and her music has become repetitive, lacking the raw freshness it once had. Enter Remy Bond, an artist who captures a similar ethereal and emotional essence but with a modern twist. Her youthful energy, innovative sound, and ability to connect with the current generation makes her a natural successor to Lana. While Lana remains a legend, it’s clear that the future belongs to the new wave, and Remy is leading that charge!!!

jaesana 5,376 Posted February 24 I took another look at her discography because I thought I was overreacting, and I am now considering myself a sufficient #hater Let me begin by saying I enjoy listening to "simple girl" - it's cute (because it feels like I'm listening to a Lana song) That's about all I can say that's positive Remy Bond is imitation. I feel like i'm legitimately going crazy on when I see comments praising her and people acting like this is not a carbon copy of lana's early career. It's almost insulting and I'm shocked that no one is dragging her for this pretend Lana Del Rey dance that she's doing. I see the "omg you remind me of lana" comments and I'm like ??? remind??? This is a Lanaface Adding a spoiler for the side-by-side lyrics comparison Spoiler {Remy is regular and Lana is in italics.} “I can be your one time baby I can be your little Dairy Queen” - meet me in the pale moonlight “I'll be your Venice baby Your little dancing queen” - star shaped baby -- “And my boyfriend's in a band He plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed I've got feathers in my hair I get high on hydroponic weed” - Brooklyn baby “We’re in the city getting high with the freaks Put the jukebox back on Lou Reed” - summer song -- “He doesn’t mind I have a Las Vegas past He doesn’t mind I have an LA crass way about me” - off to the races “He's a good guy, I don't know whеre to start I don't even mind thе Las Vegas part” - simple girl -- “Red, white, blue is in the sky Summer's in the air and baby, heaven's in your eyes” - national anthem “Fireworks in your eyes like the Fourth of July … I would die for you My red, white, and blue” - red white and blue -- “I want money and all your power, all your glory Hallelujah, I wanna take you for all that you got” - money power glory “Want your love, want your blood, want your money Want your love, want your drugs, want your body” - star shaped baby

idumea 0 Posted March 21 I honestly think that I could forgive the blatant lana inspiration if it wasn't for the fact that her whole presence points to a much larger issue of nepotism in the music industry. She comes from money and it seems to be such an insignificance to her fans. They pass it off by saying that no one even knows her dad so it can't be nepotism which is so stupid when the textbook definition of nepotism is "the practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives, friends, or associates, especially by giving them jobs." Her dad has influence, a huge amount and the fact that she's just emerged out of nowhere with such high-level music videos and high-level production that I can guarantee was not just done on garageband, points to some kind of funding that didn't come from nowhere. And we can debate the whole "lana came from money" shit all day long but if you compare the beginning of Lana's career to the beginning of Remy's career it seems so inauthentic that I'm surprised anyone has took to her. I do think that lot's of her fans are just basking in the "new artist" vibes and the prospect of discovering something niche and special that they can get cheap tickets to shows for and get to barrier as easy as anything. It seems to be very much "look at me I found something new!" rather than genuine appreciation. Either way, that girl is signed to Warner Records (something that doesn't just happen in the space of eight months of making music) which just points to crazy connections and money that have put her in this extremely privileged position. Not to mention she's conventionally attractive which everyone knows is one of the most major advantages in the industry. I personally find it distasteful the way she uses the "trailer trash" aesthetic and pedals this narrative (that goes all the way back to the first ever tiktok she made where she was walking around a trailer park) that she doesn't come from wealth. Like, girl, say it with your chest, you're rich.
