i've been thinking about this a lot lately: 

i think the way she approached the releases of the re-recordings and TTPD was all wrong. with as much magic that the TTPD era adds to the show, this album should've been dropped after the tour in my opinion. finishing and releasing the re-records during the ERAS TOUR should've been the first priority as it would've made the most sense. maybe adding a little debut section to the show after it was announced? uhg, it just bugs me. not to mention the gag that it would've been had she been sitting at her little piano during the last show and went "oh hey, by the way, my new studio album the tortured poets department is dropping blah blah blah" after giving her little speech about how much the tour meant to her. and hearing icdiwabh for the first time after the tour was over? GIRL. it would've fed us well after the inevitable long ass break she's about to take after eras is over. anyway, rant over, i'll just be eternally bugged by something that doesn't even matter

Also i wanted ttpd to have a more proper era... GIVE US THE THIRD MV (preferably for The Prophecy)

couldn't care less about billboard's rating, but them using a clip from kanye's rapey ass video to "celebrate" her is beyond gross. i truly hate it here

I completely disagree. Releasing an album in the middle of a tour and adjusting the setlist accordingly is the coolest move an artist of her caliber can make. I’m a lil pissed that puta TV is not announced yet though. 
This being said, she did keep my favs on the setlist, i needed to see Cardigan live. 

Cardigan live with the folklore/evermore stage design was so beautiful. I actually liked the fact that she would sometimes skip the 2nd verses in the songs.

I agree. It would also Match Up with the Last words from the Tour Book. "See You in The next era".

She made it very clear that the TTPD album was a cathartic album for her that she needed to get out of her system in the aftermath of her break-up with Joe and the dating escapade with the 1975 band member. It would not make sense whatsoever to release the songs about these topics 2 years after they actually happened. She will write about fresher experiences on the next album.

but the album only dropped in april of this year? it would not have been that much of a time gap between then and to drop it immediately after or a month or two after the tour. how would it have made no sense?

You need to read the album booklet again. She literally says she was in a state of crisis management after the split with Joe and she acted irrationally, thus dating that messy ugly man just to latch onto something. It is a period of her life she is not proud of, she doesn't want to bring it up again 3 years after the fact, she would rather leave it in the past, thus the option was to release it now or never. She made this extremely clear.

I think the TTPD section added a lot to the show, having seen the tour twice in US Leg 1 and then US Leg 2, it was clearly the most developed of the entire show from a visual perspective and benefitted from them being on the road for awhile. It's begging for its own tour - that it won't get - but she's not about to take a long break in 2025 either. We'll get Rep and Debut TV and then a new album in 2026 with likely a much more concise single era tour in 2027.
