true but its still better than the 128rip :toofunny: .a 320kbps transcoded file (even though its still harmful) makes little difference if transcoded properly until someone blesses us

mp3 is a lossy method for music archival such as m4a(aac), opus etc. Whenever ppl do transcoding between m4a to mp3 or vice versa you are making sound generation loss.

The only transcoding you can make is from Lossless to lossy and period. Never do backwards bc u can't replace what is already lost during compression.

in the beginning of 2000's ppl would transcode a lot of already lossy files to smaller compression (128kbps) to fit their portables which gave them the bad recognition of being bad and terrible quality audio (which still happens to this day hello Melanie leakers). I could be here all day explaining but its a nice topic for ppl to understand if they are interested in music. Point is never transcode (unless its the case I mentioned above), try converting a lossless file to 128kbps mp3 and you will see its not that bad when it comes from a legit source <3

I do that too when I unpitch some songs, its worth in this case too. And when I want to extract a song from a mix setlist
