On a different note though, this might be the first pre-order since NFR that I will have to sit out. Too much uncertainty and as much as I’d like a physical copy, it won’t be possible

So if the album is not ready yet, expect an autumn/early winter release. But would she have really said in November that the alum is done with 13 songs if it's not? I mean, she's not that big of an idiot. 

i think when she said that about the 13 songs, it was before she maybe added some old classics like Roses Bloom For You (maybe Loved You Then & Now?) or maybe even one or two more new tracks. That could easily cause delay

Black culture helped establish nearly every genre in the US omg… she has never shied away from incorporating R&B, hip hop, blues, and even recently gospel into her music

There's no way they let her release without physicals. I think it's the only thing the label has full control over cause she said multiple times she hates waiting and wants to release digital only (or at least digital first) but we got 2 albums with physicals on release since that.

 

I think it was fully done around the time she announced it back in November and the May date was because of the vinyl production (even though it's probably coming a bit later).

Is that insider even reliable? Cause I've seen so many people just believing it when it could just be a random person (like the thousand twitter insiders)

The insider tidbit is most likely not true as the vast majority of them lie

 

However, the reason “funk” stood out to me is because she has a tendency of incorporating her significant other’s lifestyle and her physical environment into her music. I think she is very inspired by the people and places in her community.

 

New Orleans is one of the birthplaces of many genres in the United States. I wouldn’t be surprised if she plays with jazz, funk, and other styles along with her southern gothic aesthetic she has been teasing.

The "Americana roots, funk" mention is way too specific though. I'm taking this with a grain of salt, obviously, but I won't be surprised if this info turns out to be real? There could be a "funk" twist in terms of the instrumentals in the bridge or the outro of the track, who knows?

 

Now, regarding the whole mastering/release date thing, I truly don't think we're getting the album in May. No single, no pre-orders, nada. Unless she announces everything this week. Ocean Blvd was mastered in the fall of 2022, the pre-orders were announced in December 2022 for a March 2023 release. There's no way Interscope will let Lana surprise drop this or do a digital release first or announce the pre-order less than 2 months before the album release. Even Miley announced the album two whole months before the actual release. It's not going to happen.
