I still haven't bought or listened to Master of My Make-Believe.. I don't know, I guess I've always forgotten it when I got to the record store. Sorry, Santi!

I saw her last year in concert with Rihanna. Santigold was infinitely better.

Master of My Make-Believe is one of my favorite albums of 2012. It's so cohesive. My favorite thing about it: It's a pop album that's not about having fun.

    Show our girl some love.

Haha I remember that too! I'm glad that happened tbh, I prefer 'Santigold'.

I absolutely love her! Master of... is my favourite album of hers. It's brilliant!
I recently found out via her twitter that I've been pronouncing her name wrong for years lolll such a bad fan

I actually like Kirsten but I hated watching Melancholia. Everything was happening so excruciatingly slow.

^Heathers is in my top 10 ever. I still need to watch Jawbreaker, even though I know it will be nowhere near as good.

Funnily enough, this is on right now. Watching despite my shared disdain for Kirsten (and Kiefer).

    Make a Santigold thread tbh

Yeah, I wouldn't even need their "reinvent every album" thing if they kept delivering that quality/style of stuff.

Oh jeez I thought it was a picture taken underwater for the longest time, which really fit with "10x10" for me, but one day I squinted and OH--there's a face

(Incidentally, "10x10" was the first time I ever tried interpreting a song with a really convoluted theory and probably ulimately responsible for Lanalysis.)

The album is SO AMAZING. It's even better than the debut, which is not an easy feat. I still need to see her live one of these days. I keep missing her.

*Sigh* I wish it was an even more splendid affair, but I'm glad we finally got it. :3 "Never Enough" is a great track, and I saw via BMI she already has a lot more in waiting...hopefully we won't have to wait another four years.

Aw, forgiven. :3 I much prefer friendz to enemies, anyway. It's just a stupid game.
Like SitR said, Is Is is a fantastic EP. That's what EPs should be--a group of songs that represent their own body of work, brilliantly brought together & perfectly executed. None of this two-songs-and-a-remix nonsense I see all over the place these days. It's so dark, too! The album art really works with the songs as to how they appear in my head.
Lol b/c I used to feel the same way about it + "Shame and Fortune." But knowing that Greg Kurstin plays the piano on it made me like it tons more, and "Shame and Fortune" grew on me just because it deserves recognition! I just wish It's Blitz was longer...it feels to me like it deserves to be an even more magnificent album.
I KNOW!!!!!!!! I was so happy when it was finally on the album...I listened to the LQ "leak" for months.

No, I didn't see it as a sell-out album or anything! But i just want more Is Is for the rest of my life Rockers to Swallow and 10x10 are wiiiiiild.

Careful, Madrigal loves him some It's Blitz I like the album, but I'll always be floored by the other stuff to a larger extent. The songs I return to most on IB aren't any of the ballads, sure enough. "Dull Life" and "Dragon Queen" are great songs no matter what they do. I'm at least confident you can't say that they sold out for pop appeal, because it was just yet another direction for one of their albums. My optimism for the fourth album hasn't budged a bit ^_^

And nooow fall in love with Fever to Tell I like to hear "favorite band" statements, they feel like personal compliments because I'm so crazy about them.

ALL THAT BEING SAID: Is Is is my favorite "10x10" is such a jam.

I've like them since "Maps", my best friend and I used to make up music videos and this was the first song we did soooo middle school.
But I definitely like their harder stuff, It's Blitz was a little too "poppy" and the "rock" tracks were too soft, plus they could've gone with one less ballad in exchange for another "Shame and Fortune"

I was on her side from the beginning. I don't think I could wrap my head around how anyone that young could have a voice like that at first. She really was just incredible. Her voice had such range and power and her phrasing was dead on when she was sang jazz. If she was alive and making records, I don't think Adele would be as big as she is.

When she was on, she was such an incredible performer:

I really love it! Sometimes I have phases where it's all I listen to. I spent a lot of time studying it and there's so much to explore! My granny used to see Lady Day in Harlem back in the early 50s and has all of her records. She told me she wants "Autumn in New York" played at her funeral and I will do my best to see that it happens.
