The Right Person Will Stay - Pre-Release Thread (OUT: May 21st, 2025)
Blue Rev replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
I'm not even just talking about commercially, I mean artistically too. Lets not forget Rick was responsible for the lackluster West Coast 'radio mix' that was almost the official version until she met Dan - lord knows what Ultraviolence would have been like if he had produced more of it. His songs on later albums (TNBAR, Bartender, Yosemite) were all kinda disappointments and are not the best tracks on their parent albums. Plus LFL is easily one of Lana's most uninspired albums which Rick was responsible for producing. Honeymoon is incredible yes, but honestly he needed to go and Lana had definitely outgrown him and needed some fresh production ideas which Jack gave her. -

Thank God. Jack pushed her outside her comfort zone. If Rick had stayed as her main producer she would've faded into irrelevance and we never would've got some of her greatest songs. -
then why post about it?

Was relistening to Angel Olsen's 2022 "country" album Big Time earlier and wondered whether TRPWS might have a similar feel to it - traditional pop/Americana instead of country. Great album if you haven't checked it out. -

Do we think she's gonna have opening act(s)? Feel like she hasn't had any for a lot of the shows over the last few years, but for what I paid for the ticket I'm expecting there to be one

Is there an official studio of her Hands All Over Me cover or is it just a live?

New interview with Rolling Stone, she talks about the upcoming EP and Preacher's Wife a little. The EP still seems to be scheduled for later this year. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/ethel-cain-new-music-interview-1234807712/

I think she might be referring to the B-Sides when they "follow up" because she's said previously that songs like Waco, Texas and Dust Bowl are some of her favourites so I assume they're what she's talking about. And I mean technically it is the follow-up despite being b-sides.
