The discourse surrounding this album has been so upsetting… like, everyone is entitled to dislike the music, but I don’t see why people feel the need to attack the people overseeing this album’s release. I can’t even imagine how Sophie’s brother must have felt while finishing the album she left behind… genuinely the last thing people should be doing is questioning his intentions

All of this talk about what songs are about who, what’s been scrapped and why, what rollout and tracklist was planned, etc is all just speculation. Anybody can say anything and pretend to be an insider or somehow extrapolate based on what limited view they think they had into her personal life and relationships. Many people are doing too much.

If stuff comes out it feels safe to assume that between her family and collaborators, she intended for it to come out. If stuff doesn’t come out, it feels safe to assume that it wasn’t meant to be out (at least not at the time she passed). But anyone online that wasn’t a collaborator is only guessing as to the reasoning behind any decisions that were made.

Regardless of whether he actually believes it or whether it's engagement bait, the effects are still the same. I think the moral difference hating women and pretending to hate women so people who hate women admire you is pretty minimal.

Also, from digging, it seems like he has a weird relationship to SOPHIE's fans. Clearly posts things that are intended to flex his access to her unreleased music ("This early demo of Lemonade is so good"), then jokes about how SOPHIE's fans hate him because they're jealous they were friends. Seems like he's using her legacy to boost his fifteen seconds of fame.
It was because she's using a Carribbean accent in the demo and Starrah is not Carribbean, she felt it was cultural appropriation. We can assume the demo was meant for a Carribbean artist.

Although there's obviously nothing she can do it about it now, and it is a relatively small issue, I think this was definitely a misstep on SOPHIE's part and Starrah has a right to be upset.

Kinda sick of people not understanding what mixing is. Benny has always been a mixing engineer on SOPHIE'S music (alongside SOPHIE herself), and in fact it's extremely uncommon for artists to mix their own work. To be honest, most people wouldn't be able to tell a mixed from an unmixed song at first glance (unless the original was EXTREMELY poorly mixed).

I think we need to trust that SOPHIE's closest collaborator and family member knows better than we do about her wishes and how she wanted the songs to sound. We didn't know her, we were not in the studio with her, and I think it's both disrespectful and unfair to create this odd and unrealistic narrative that Benny is somehow tinkering with SOPHIE's music in a way she would not have wanted for seemingly no reason at all.

It’s officially been a year since she graduated to Omnipresence. On the first day, it almost felt unbelievable. No matter how many times it was said I just didn’t believe it. I couldnt face the pain of losing my hero. And today I’m so happy to have existed at such a lucky time. To witness the metaphorical birth and loss of such an impactful artist is truly something i will never take for granted. SOPHIE girl, i cant express how grateful i am…for every value you made me reign, every question you made me ask, and every emotion you make me feel. The world might feel empty without you, but it can be so full because of the vision of love you leave behind. I know myself and so many others will lead our lives in your honour. Loud, proud, and tits out girlfriend! Miss u so fkng much EVERY fkng day

NEW WORLD ORDER. NO MORE GODS, ONLY SOPHIE!!

“stole the joke” I think she was just teasing this person not trying to pretend this is her own joke. This person seems just as pressed

gays have a weird obsession with female artists and telling them what they can and cannot do. all i'll say is that it's pretty common for songwriters to write stuff together and not immediately record it, sometimes they'll have just one of the writers record vox to see how it sounds/to help them with potentially pitching it to other artists. do i think that sky is a fraud? idk and idc, but the fact that there is another writer's demo ≠ she doesn't write her own stuff.

after bounce final leaked these days i can’t stop listening to xcx world and honestly she didn’t top it with charli. i just feel like xcx world was the perfect album with the perfect balance between pop music and pc music, while charli is a little bit messy at times, she really tried too much to make it “weird” and “next level” and i guess that ruined it a little, still like it though. well, rip xcx world, gone but never forgotten.

Why are people so hung up on Charli singing a song somebody else wrote? Aren’t there better things to be upset about? Of her ENTIRE discography she has less than 5 released songs she didn’t pen. For any recording artist today, that’s pretty awesome. Smh like I understand the frustration behind all the album delays & her shitty set list, but complaining how she didn’t write the song and digging up a quote from 4 years ago doesn’t make you seem that cool.
