So I guess we can expect HTD this month? It would make sense for it to be the 'more serious' October single!

Although we have learned from our mistakes so I will not be hyping myself up until an official release is announced

Thank you Clampigirl for making this thread! I think this thread will be a very wholesome place!

I remember I just used to hate Lana. I used to be one of those who thought she was a spoiled girl who made depressing music. One time when she performed on The Voice UK, she came on to perform and I rolled my eyes and walked out the room. But about a year later, I was sitting in my English class (normally a very hectic, stressful class) and we were all listening to the radio. Video Games started playing, and even though I immediately knew it was Video Games by Lana Del Rey, I fell in love with it. The class all fell silent, and everything felt so peaceful and calm (not the usual atmosphere). In those 5 minutes, it was like everyone in the class just accepted each other as they were and no one had a care in the world. As soon as I got home, I bought BTD on iTunes! That moment of sitting in my English class and Lana coming on the radio will stay with me forever.

So I love discovering music and listening to new records every year... but I swear this year was SO shitty musically. I haven't liked a single album.

 

What are your favorite albums from this year? Please no Cardi B, Charlie XCX, Dua Lipa and that stuff.

God's Favourite Customer by Father John Misty has some amazing tracks on it... 'Please Don't Die', 'Hangout At The Gallows', and 'Mr Tillman' are incredible and get better with every listen. 'Hangout At The Gallows' did take a few listens for it to grow on me though, but now it is one of my all-time favourite FJM songs! 

Also (imo) Allie X has really upped her game with Super Sunset. 'Not So Bad In La' and 'Science' have brilliant production, especially 'Science'. 

The snippet isn't bad but honestly THANK GOD Baby is on Clean Bandit's album...

Sounds like a bop but Marina can do so much better

Genuine question: how did The Fader find out the name and release date of Venice Bitch? Would they have been told by Ben/Ed?

So if @annedauphine's theory is right, 'Venice Bitch' is the name of LDR6 and I am HERE FOR IT

Or she's just releasing the album at the start of the year which is ok to release lead singles now.

They said those 2 songs were part of the new album sessions.

I guess so, but I thought the release schedule would be shorter than LFL's and more like HM's... although I have no evidence to base this on. Still 5 months seems quite a long release schedule for Lana, if we assume LDR6 would be released in January?

So if LDR6 is not coming out until next year, I am guessing that Lana really liked these two tracks so released them separately as they don't fit the atmosphere of the album?
